  Dear All

Yes Raila was on a state visit. But Raila is a Kenyan and the diaspora was a fundamental component of the success of his compaign. You must remember that the USA diaspora was a key lobby group that raised money and even after he was denied his rightful position lobbied the congress and the senate to press Kibaki to agree to a fair election outcome.

Judy we were with you at the state department after Kibaki stole the elections. By the time we reached there they had already congratulated the Kibaki government. Our presence and the grievances presented to the officials of the state department changed their minds. Of course Raila and co may have done these himself but the contribution of the diaspora must not be minimised. The diaspora is a constituency that have interest that they could have voted for if the law allowed. It is therefore important and crucial that Kenyan government officials make arrangement to meet and listen to them.

Raila has thanked those who voted and struggled for his success in Kenya. He has gone to Kibira and Bondo and addressed and listened to his supporters. It is not a crime to do the same to those  who lost some sleep organising voters and contributors. It is not self seeking to damand the audience of your leader. How will he know how they feel about the constitution, coalition, dual citizenship, IDPS and land issues if he doesn’st give them audience. Moreover, many of the diasporans are still Kenyans. Some diasporans have chosen to maintain Kanyan citizenship because of their special attachments to Kenya and would be interested in listening to what the PM has to say about the way forward. Moreso I personally would have like to know what he is going to do about the impoverised place he hails from. I would have liked to know if they will recognize the diaspora as a constituency and allow us to elect a representative like Nigeria is doing now. As a matter of fact, I do not believe Raila should be ambushed about this, his aids should aspire to arrange for this and I do believe they will if time permits.

Of course I was not amongst this group that went to meet Raila and I do not know the approach they used. But I think it is wrong to think that they went there solely to look for jobs. I strongly think that this kind of statement is so vendeterised to an extent many begin to think that you guys are beginning to fight personal wars around Raila on the internet. Some are beginning to believe that you guys are upset because you felt left out. If this happened then you should be happy because you spared an embarassment. Let those who have the passion to put pressure for the right actions do so. That will not stop you from doing it your way. Of course the protocol must be followed. Of course a level of organization is expected but the people have to have audience alone with their leader. Some things must be discussed inhouse with our leader. This is a job we cannot leave for the selected few or right hand men.

Barack

Dr Abonyo,

It is said that all politics is local. It seems that you have a way with local politics. You have said it better than I tried to calm down Judy and those she is mad at. Could you kindly tell us where you hail from? Forget, that doesn’t matter anymore. Like Kalembe Ndile demonstrated, you can now vie for a position anywhere in Kenya, not just Nairobi or your homeland. So I propose you for Bomet. Personally, my 10th great gandfather Ragem, seem to be pointing me to Gatundu. Somehow, Martha Karua has reinvented herself or has been injected with Margaret Thatcher’s adrenalin. Today she showed courage to run for presidency on her own accomplishments. I am actually considering joininig forces with her to fight Hon. Judas and Project.

In short, ice cream without Summer is not quite desirable. Sincerely, thanks for reasoning with Judy on our behalf.

I AGREE WITH YOU ALOT ON YOUR DEMAND FOR AUDIENCE. BUT YOU WILL ALSO AGREE WITH ME THAT, BEFORE THE PM LEFT KENYA THEIR WERE A LIST OF PEOPLE HE WAS SUPPOSE TO MEET. AND EVEN BEFORE GETTIMG IMTO THE PLANE KENYANS NEW HE WAS NOT TO MEET DEMOCRATIC PRESIENTIAL CANDIDATE BARACK OBAMA. SO I WOULD ADVICE YOU TO HAVE BEFORE HAND, ARRANGEMENTS AND CONTACTS WITH THE PM’S TOUR TEAM ORGANISERS AT THE KENYAN EMBASSY IN NEW YORK BEFORE HE LEAVES KENYA.
YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER NOW HE IS USING TAX-PAYERS MONEY AN NOT HIS OWN. HE IS ALSO FOLLOWING GOVERNMENT SCHEDULE AS A GOVERNMENT V.I.P UNLIKE BEFORE.
DESPITE THIS, WE LUO’S COMMEND YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK AND LOBBYING.
