Before last week, I had read of jobs that called upon candidates that paid attention to the details. But it was by listening to a radio conversation last week that I realized its importance !

It was a story about an individual who was suing a credit company for
a hidden clause that one had signed for without paying much attention. As the discussion proceeded, it became very clear to me that when applying for a credit card, a personal or business loan, a mortgage loan and what have you, there are people who just sign forms without paying attention to the details of the deal only to discover and regret later!

The more I thought about it, the more the I found myself reflecting or asking myself the following questions:

1. Is it possible that a lot of problems that some spouses encounter daily come as a result of not paying attention to the details of the marriage vows? Is it possible that a serious mistake was made there and then!

2. I then thought about those who leave the church due to various reasons. Is it because they failed to understand why in the first case why they became Christians? If all paid attention to the details of who called them and why, then they will care less of fellow human beings!

3. How about our faith! Is there need to pay attention to the details. How deep to we go in our search for that which we hold as the sure word of God! Does God pay attention to the details of those who claim to be His! What to we learn from the following:

* That God had respect for Abel’s offering but at the same time rejected Cain’s-Genesis chapter 4

*That only Noah and his family were saved during the flood!

*That many religious leaders failed to see the coming of the Messiah, thus leading to their rejection of Him who was the focus of their daily worship. They not only rejected Him but led others to do the same!

I can go on and on, but the point is very clear, Let us pay attention to the details of all that we do and believe. Failure to do that may lead to great disappointment and unfortunately to the denial of the entry to the Kingdom of God that we have patiently waited for!

I truly accept the challenge from now on to pay attention to the details of all that I do daily and believe. How about you?
