Wana Bidii,
The other day, Dominion farms in Siaya were donating free rice worth over two million to Kadenge residents, and they rejected it saying that the quality was bad, and that it could have done better for poultry usage simply because it was broken.
Councilors of that region have been politicking making the companies operation difficult, there are sometimes back that they nearly pulled out of the country due to the politics and the intervention of government officials made them reverse their move.
There is scarcity in food at the moment and the country is just hungry as we can read in the standards focus edition. There are people in this country that could have taken the rice that was being donated without even wanting to know its quality because of the poverty that has stricken their regions.
While some People are struggling with decisions on whether to by food or pay bills, others are being offered food free of charge and they are turning the offer down, People need to change their attitude towards things; there is no way you can develop with the kind of attitude in region.
People should stop being proud and realize that no one can start a business of just making loss, there is no way a company can donate the best grade that they produce to sell and make profit to a community! No one can do that! so if someone decides to give you anything for free you should not argue with him that it is not of the quality that you expected.
Because if it so, then why not buy and stop depending on the donation. Leaders are cheating these people, they themselves earn a lot of money and their lively hoods cannot be compared with the locals, I have never seen anything being donated turned down, if it were so then orphans could not be accepting clothes that have been put on as gifts?
There is no way you can reject rice because it is broken terming it for poultry use, Attitude change will help some regions! Or else, They will Remain a laughing stock.
Life has become so hard that if someone offers you anything you should just pick it without is or was. People are struggling to put meals on the tables and others are returning it. Surely?
Phillip .
