Each one of us has had/got good plans for the future! We work so hard and use different legal paths/routes in arriving at our destinations. Unfortunately, a long the way something unforeseen/unfortunate happens, and lo and behold, we find ourselves in the middle of the road. Reflect on the following scenarios.
1. You start a business counting on your friends and family for support and success. A time comes when some of your once strong supporters abandon you for reasons best known to then.
2. After searching and praying or with the recommendation of others,
a time came when you married the very best as at that time. A long the way, advanced education, money, friends, in-laws, a new culture, deception of the highest degree, change of status, unfortunate occurrence during your life together or in some cases death occurs thus changing everything in the equation.
3. You decide to go to school or send your spouse to school to study, let us say nursing. But for some reasons she/he fails a particular course over and over again. Transferring to various schools don’t help either.
4. You completed your school/college/certain training but have not been able to find anything. You have tried different jobs but all in vain.
5. Your friends or family deceived you to buy a house or start some kind of business against your wish. You started well, made some money but now things have come to a stand still.
6. You used to have a well paying job. During the good times, you spoke and behaved in such a manner that looked down upon others. With the bad economy you lost it all and now feel ashamed to even think of getting such a job like you used to despise.
Whenever any of the above happens, some people go different routes in solving their problem. Here are some of them!
1. Sit there and cry blaming everyone else including God Himself
2. Live a life of denial
3. Like we have seen in some cases, some even go to an extreme of killing others and self.
But, the best solution, at least as far as I am concerned is as follows.
1. Take time and review on what might have happened. Check out to see if it had anything to do with your bad choices/attitude or own fault
2. See if there is any lesson that you can learn from what has just happened
3. Ask yourself if God has anything to do with it. How so? Because there are times when the good Lord allows some things to come our way so as to straighten us or keep us on the right track.
4.Be willing to start all over with the following in mind:
*There is no situation that is permanent
*Regardless of what, the good Lord has numerous promises for you: He will never leave you alone(John 14.18); He has got good plans for you (Jeremiah 29:11); He loves you so much that He will never forget you(Isaiah 49:14-15); and if you chose Him to be the first, best, and last in your life, all things will be yours (Mathew 6:25-33.)
And lastly, in starting all over, it may call upon you to change your life style, attitude towards God,loved ones and fellow human beings and sometimes change of friends and environment.
As for me, I learned and trained myself long time to be ever willing and ready to start all over when and not if anything happens. What about you?
Just a thought
