Kibaki is an enemy of Democracy
Any leader who defies public opinion is not a friend of a democratic society but a dictator. This is what has compounded Kibaki’s Presidency of over six years.
The series of events that have taken place since President Kibaki was elected enmasse in 2002 portrays him as a very unreliable leader who does not listen to the cries of his subjects.
He doesn’t work on what is popular to the masses but soughts audience from a small click of tribal chieftains.
Quite often, the president has made decisions whose sanity puzzles the nation. Who doesn’t know that Mr. Ringera has done nothing to fight corruption, and that the Kenya anticorruption Commission needs an overhaul? Look what he has done?
President Kibaki is an enemy of meritocracy, in public service. His biggest undoing is his ethnic eye on national appointments and allocation of responsibilities in government.
We don’t care whether Ringera is a Meru, Luo or Kikuyu but as Kenyans, we want performers. This is the same impediment that bedevils the Country’s public service where an old guard; Francis Muthaura who has been ailing and past retirement age, his back as civil service head.
Does it mean the country doesn’t have young men and women with the skills to perform Muthaura’s job?
His second term in office was disastrous- questionable victory that led to blood shed, dysfunctional state house, tribal leanings, lack of national cohesion, betrayals, indecision, protecting corrupt friends, tribalism, greed, financial scandals, lack of empathy and compassion for the hurting nation.
President Kibaki does things as if he is Kenya and Kenya is his. He signed the Communication amendment Bill even after majority of Kenyans including the Prime Minister expressed displeasure over the many flaws that were in the Bill.
Because of tribalism, he appointed Uhuru Kenyatta to be in charge of our national coffers yet Mr. Kenyatta his poor in fiscal management.
We all know the goofs Mr. Kenyatta has made since he took over as Finance docket from Mr. Amos Kimunya.
The most worrisome thing is why the Finance docket has always evolved within the Mount Kenya region in Kibaki’s Presidency.
Kenyans expected a decentralized system where government responsibilities are rotated to reflect our diversity as a nation with 42 ethnic communities.
Truly, during Moi’s reign, the Finance Ministry was not a preserve for Kalenjins but for all Kenyans. We had Saitoti, a Maasai, Nyachae a Kisii, Kibaki, a Kikuyu, Obure a Kisii and Okemo, a Luyia, to mention but a few who served in this Ministry.
As a nation, we e are left wondering whether President Kibaki knows where we are heading as a nation unless he wants to take us back to Egypt and not the promised land.
Indeed, what tangible legacy will Kibaki leave behind since he is in the sunset years of his political life?
He will bequeath nothing especially to the young generation of Kenyans except tribalism, greed for power, maintaining the status quo, indecision, doing things his way and lack of leadership when the nation needs direction.

In other words, change is what one asks for and once in place, will not want to be asked for change.
Change is inevitable, and it will surely come – first, let us protest against Ringera, and if he is a man of good will, subject himself to scrutiny.

Mr. Nyaringo,
I want to declare my support to all your views except the insinuation you crated that Kibaki has only been appointing Kikuyus to the finance ministry. One can argue that Mwiraria was not Kikuyu however close they were with the president.
But on the overall, it is a fact Kibaki is a very bad tribalist and more so Kibaki is a sadist!! In fact it is very easy to predict what Kibaki is about to do nowadays. Just listen to the on going debates on any matter and be sure that in case it is one that needs his contribution Kibaki will always do the opposite! That is how a typical sadist behaves. He rejoices when people suffer!
Had Julius Kamau not said some issues a few days ago that bordered on superstition I would have told you something I have always thought Kibaki and the people who surround him. Or let me say this, as long as Kibaki continues to be president of Kenya, we must be prepared to suffer! And in deed we will suffer!!
In the Bible there is a verse that talks of King Uziah. Before he died, Isaiah could not see the Lord.
But the year he died, that was the year Isaiah saw the Lord. Kibaki is the King Uziah of our time; if we must see democracy then Kibaki must die!!!………at least politically!

Benson et – al,
I couldnt agree with you more.
Kibaki is is the epitome of Corruption, Misrule, Impunity, Dictatorship, sin and a curse to the nation of Kenya. None of the People who seat in Parliament today (Kalonzo, Raila, Ruto, Uhuru, Karua, even Bifwoli) will bring about change that Kenya deserves. I have been thinking of what as a country we can do to remove the curse that befalls Kenya today. The curse of the politicians sitting in Parliarment and their dare devil civil servants but it is still not quite clear in my mind, but we are making progress towards revialising this country. But we must work extra smart. The Kenyans Young People;
1. MUST learn that if we work with the current system to bring about change then we are wasting our time. The systems that currently rules us has lived in impunity, corruption and dictatorship. The vice is part of their DNA. They will protect themselves from any kind of alternative thinking.
2. If Kibaki appointed Ringera, be rest assured that he will not reverse his decision even if an earth quake struck him. He will reappoint Muthaura, and should he get a chance, will appoint Moi for whatever position that he can get for him and you wil do nothing about it.
3. Kibaki represents the dictatorial elites in Kenya who took over from the British. He will protect them for as long as he still swears his allegiance to the queen of England as far as Amos Wako is concerned. Any thing else is talk show and he enjoys and how foolish he thinks me and you are by suggesting that he can change Kenya.
4. Kibaki will mess Kenya before he leaves, why? because he knows a revolution is in the making and that should a fresh person in terms of age and ideology take over then it means the end of the system that has misruled this country since independence. That system is entrenched in civil service, the military, parliarment, legislature, the executive, and the business. They will fight to keep one of their own in state house. If they cant do it then they must mess kenya so that there is nothing left of Kenya. They will run to uganda or China or any of the countries that condones their way of thinking, while you and me will be bussy killing each other.
We must realise now that it is more urgent to remove that system completely. A complete take over and replacement. Then start preparing jail for their likes for the bad things they have done to Kenya. But we cant involve their ilke.
What are we going to do? How are we going to go about the total take over and replacement?
You and me must come up with that formula.
