In 2008, 6 million people didn’t vote because they missed a deadline or didn’t know how to register.1 With voter registration deadlines coming up in many states, let’s make sure those voices get heard in 2012.
Hundreds of civic groups, like the League of Women Voters and Voto Latino, have organized hundreds of events on Tuesday, September 25—National Voter Registration Day. All over the country, volunteers and celebrities will hit the streets for a single day of coordinated outreach to register voters.
Our allies are planning hundreds of simple and fun events. The more people who participate, the more people we’ll actually register. Can you sign up to help register voters and raise awareness on Tuesday?

With voting rights under attack, it’s more important than ever to get registered to vote. By joining together on the same day, integrating field and online technology, we’ll help make sure voters know how, when, and where they can register to vote.
On Tuesday, we’ll register voters where they work, travel, and play—at main transportation hubs, shopping malls, concerts, and sporting events. We’re making it as easy as possible to make sure everyone has the information they need to vote this November.
