LEO ODERA OMOLO IS BEREAVED AGAIN, WITH THE DEATH OF HIS NEPHEW, A SENIOR DEPUTY SECRETARY AT THE MINISTRY OF DEFENSE.
Leo Odera Omolo, a Kisumu based veteran journalist, and author of children books, and his close family members have suffered yet another tragedy, following the untimely death of his nephew, Mr. George Oswako Okelo, a senior deputy secretary at the Ministry of Defense.
Mr Okello died on January 8th, 2010 at the Kenyatta National Hospital, following a short illness.
Based at the Ministry’s Department of Defense {DOD}, Mr.Okello was a former DO {1} Molo, Kajiado and Trans-Nzoia, and many other stations of work.
He is the husband of Mrs Josephine Onunga Okello, the current District Commission for the newly created Samia, based in Funyula, and a father of several minors.
George Oswako Okelo is the son of the late Mzee Elisha Okelo Oswako is a cousin of the journalist Leo Odera Omolo. He hails from Kamgere village, Waware sub-Location, Rusinga East Location, Mbita East district.
Mr. Okello is a cousin to Mr. Esaac Omulo Okoth, the STANDARDS Sports Editor, Wycliffe Onyango Oluoch of Mombasa, Ken Masime Odera, the CEO of Centre for Good Governance and Development, Assistant Chief Obuya Owade of Waware East, Ballacka Odoyo of Ken-Gen-Sondu Miriu , Mwalimu Jared Samba Okong’o of Rusinga island, Mwalimu Boaz Jakotaye Omori of Rapogi market and Mr Ocholla Odoyo of Nairobi.
The body is lying at one of the funeral homes in Nairobi, while the family in collaboration with the Ministry, relatives, friends and well wishers. The funeral committee are making tentative arrangement for the burial date, which will be announced soon.
The burial will take place at his home in Kamagere Waware sub-location, Rusinga East Location, Kamger, Mbita Disrict.

Sorry for the death but I believe we are making this site very cheap and will never be taken seriously. Should every Tom, Dick and Harry tell Kenyans through this site when a relative dies?
Why don’t we focus on important stories, rather than telling us that Leo has lost a DISTANT RELATIVE? Who is Leo? Is this an obituary page? I have nothing personal against Leo but I believe this is not the right forum to tell his friends and relatives about the death of a DISTANT cousin.
There are more pressing issues to be read rather than this. Please Mr. Leo, you are doing the correct thing at the wrong place.
