Dear Friends of Kenya,

I will be leading a delegation of opinion and local leaders from Komarock and Kayole to a meeting with the Commissioner of Police over the rise of insecurity in the said areas next week.

We know that the Police are doing their best with limited resources, and as leaders and citizens, we must work closely with them to ensure success. We must come out and raise our concerns as bests as we can for the attention of the Police Commissioner.

The people who rein insecurity on us, the people who kill us, the people who car jack us and the people who rape us are our brothers and sisters, our parents, our children, our political leaders and our police. It is our responsibility as a citizenry to come out boldly and work closely with the police to put a stop to this.

Now, because insecurity is not only confined to Komarock and Kayole, I want to invite your comments and suggestions on what we should raise with the Commissioner. We have prepared our points of concern, but still, it would do us lots of justice to also get your personal experience; what you would like the Commissioner to do to enhance the reputation of the police.

Can you share with us this, either privately to my inbox if it is very sensitive, or, online if it is the kind of common things we all know. Let us act, let us stop complaining.

As leaders and as responsible citizens, let us take this as our duty to help the police help us. Then we will hold them to account for our taxes that is being spent on them.
