A principal of a local technical institution has expressed fears for his life following claims that the local leaders who are opposed to his leadership have threatened to evict him from the institution.
The principal of Siaya institute of technology Mr Charles Akach accused the chairman of Siaya county council Cllr Aggrey Onyango together with his cronies to have issued him with a one week ultimatum to vacate the institution or they forcefully evict him.
The principal while speaking to the media yesterday in Siaya town,said he had refused to play into the local leaders politics which he said developed into a grudge.
The principal was speaking barely 30 minutes after he had recorded a statement with the detectives over the threat issue.
At the same time, the Japan International Cooperation Agency(JICA),have discontinued the services of Ms Yoshiko Miyagawa at the Siaya Institute of Technology citing security concerns.
Ms Miyagawa had been deployed to the institution by JICA barely 8 months ago to work as a rural community development officer before her services was terminated and later redeployed to Machakos technical institute.
According to the letter dated August,19,2010, written by JICA Kenya representative Masaaki Kato and addressed to the principal Mr Charles Akach,stated that they were compeled to relocate Ms Miyagawa from the institution citing her health and security reasons.
Yesterday during the Siaya District Executive committee meeting, the DC Mr Boaz Cherutich warned that the Government will take stern action against leaders who interfere with learning activities in the region for their selfish interests.
