The much awaited KCDN Embakasi Peace Run was finally held today. The Occasion was graced by Mr Steven Karinga, Deputy Commissioner of Sports as our chief guest, Ms Sarah Kiwanuka, Chairlady Athletics Kenya Nairobi Province, Irshad Sumra, Embakasi politician, Charles Mac Aluodo, Chairman, Peace Building, Reconciliation and Conflict Management Committee, Nairobi East District, Mr John Mwithiga [Warm-up], the National Coach Athletics, John Were, Chairman Athletics Kenya, Nairobi West District, and Mwangi Kariuki, Chairman, Athletics Kenya, Nairobi East District.

In attendance also were former international athletes led by former African champion 400m, Ruth Waithera, Record holder 100m, Joyce Odhiambo among others.

We had the participation of 21 Athletics Clubs with over 500 athlete taking part.

We want to thank all those who have supported us to make this day a success. Special thanks to the MD SGS Kenya Ltd, Text Book Centre Ltd, Erdemann Company Ltd, Phoenix Publishers, Rachier & Amolo Advocates and East African Educational Publishers.
