GLCSE: Travelling from USA to Kenya any soon? then you need to read this…

ALL,

Are you traveling from the US to Kenya any time soon? If yes then read on.

I run a community libraries back home, somewhere in Rangwe, Homa-Bay district. The community libraries are part of a charity project, Griffin Leadership Center of Service and Excellence (GLCSE). This charity focuses on empowering the less-fortunate, particularly the orphans and widows, by way of education through regular feeding programs, buying school uniforms, availing necessary study material other than what the schools provide, organizing holiday tuition camps for the youth in the project, among many others.

Now to my request to those traveling to Kenya: I rely on persons and friends like you to travel with a suitcase of text books from me. I will foot any bills needed by the customs in case my luggage may come as an excess to the ones you have for your safari. But if you may just accept to deliver the package as a gesture to support good cause, then that will be very kind and helpful of you. After you reach Kenya, I will organize for a staff from Griffin Center to meet you and pick up the luggage. I need to also mention that, other than offering delivery services, you may also contribute to this project by donating books or whatever material that may be useful for school.

Meanwhile, I am very grateful to those people who have responded to this post in its initial appearance in Jaluo.com site. There is always room to do more, and I do believe that we can pull it together in so many ways to develop the educational standards in those areas that are still lagging behind. GLCSE is a major project and more is coming up that I will be sharing with everyone in jaluo.com. Education is the key to unlocking the potential of every life and the earlier we invest upon the upcoming generation the better. This way, we will empower generations upon generations. You too can join in a worthy cause!

I will most appreciate your help in this wonderful effort.

NB: The center is named after the late director and founder of Starehe Boys’ Center, Dr. Geoffrey William Griffin. He is one great man in the living history who mentored me to the person I am today.

I look forward to reading/hearing from you.

Many thanks to Jaluo site owners for accepting to expose this item to its audience.
