On behalf of SIDAREC’s board, management, staff and community members, I am pleased to inform you that SIDAREC has been announced the overall winner of the coveted Architecture For Humanity Global Challenge 2007. The announcement was made in South Africa during the World Economic Forum.

This award is a great achievement for the organization since it means that an elaborate Community Media lab will be constructed for SIDAREC at Mukuru Kwa Njenga resource centre complete with a Community library, computer training center, internet cafe, pay phone area, day care centre, recording studio, and recreational field. It’s instructive to note that SIDAREC emerged winner out of 566 projects from 57 countries around the world that had placed their bids.
