Folks,

Hague is the Answer…….. The Mt. Kenya Mafia and Cohorts wants to identify and gun down (eliminate) to silence those with evidence like they did to GPO and collegue recently when Tribunal is set-up locally in the Country, with an excuse of silver lining that Kenya is a sovereign country. They will run but will not hide, it is just a matter of time. Dont be fooled people….. get them to face Hague……..They want to be in control of the surrounding to manipulate and intimidate the process to suit their own outfit interests.

If you catch a criminal lethal thief, you must be extremely careful lest they turn and harm you. Remember, they are ferocious…….dont give them a chance if Kenya want realistic change and peace in the country. Change is Transformation which is equall to Revolution. Those in their comfort zones will not accommodate it, they will fight viciously tooth and nail. We already know everything about them even their strategic planning and connections with expectant results to change majority course of thinking and destruction, all retrieved from their secret hideout forum. Moi has given it a long range shot too. That too we know. Watch your relatives and those close to you…….. … because….they are desparately reaching out to silence people……. we know it…. all those who are being used……….. Watch out it is not secret anymore. People are connected and have been sent out to damage, but we have damage control………

Barack Muluka, your statement here sounds like someone terrified and frustrated. Unfortunately, the reality and the truth of the matter is black and white, face it. Signs of the times are on the wall. We are all grateful to Koffi Annan and team for intervention. When you begin an assignment you have to complete it. That is what Koffi Annan is doing. He has achieved so much with the scheme to abandon it now, is foolshardy. His intentions were meant for good, you need to blame your Mt. Kenya Mafia people whose selfishness and greed are bringing Kenya tambling down on its knees. Yes it is true they stole the votes and occupied the stronghold seats in the government. Raila in the course of muddled events got to a confused state only to realized they are using him to spice their awkwardness. Raila was just trying to hold the country together in a messy situation, that too is clearly understood. Ofcourse everyone have their own weaknesses and no one is perfect, he has his share of blame too, but as for now, our biggest enemy number one are the GEMA Mt. Kenya Mafia and cohorts, and not Koffi Annan. Get your facts right and Call a spade a spade. Why are you running away from the reality? Koffi Annan is not coward, he stepped in to save a situation and God is with him because God is mightier and will not let innocent lives perish because of a few selfish characters.

Thanks,

We can jeer and even sneer at Annan today, but 2012 ain’t far
Barrack Muluka
Receive greetings from the land of the ungrateful, Dear Mzee Kofi Annan. I hear that you were in the country to wish us well and to find out what good we have come to, since the time you left us baying for each other’s ethnic blood. You remember how you arrived here last year just in the nick of time, as they say? We had just messed up our elections and were trading blame here, there, everywhere; looking for someone to murder if need be. And we killed quite a few, in the process.
In the mid of our most ambitious and successful rowdiness, you sat down the two big guns and advised them to share power and to begin institutional reform, Annan. They emerged from your talks calling themselves ‘the two principals’, having agreed to share power equally. There was also a junior principal, otherwise known as the Vice President, who went around the place for some time shadowboxing with the principal called the Prime Minister. But all that has come to pass. Now the critical thing is real eating, Annan.
The Government you helped us to cobble has been doing this thing, eating as best as an inefficient African government can be expected to eat. You know that African governments were never about providing leadership and service. You are aware that African governments are a gravy train. Usually the winner gets it all, with his men and women. But we are trying to get used to the idea that two mutually belligerent sets of African eaters can partake on the same gravy train.
It has not been easy for us, Annan. It is difficult to eat with your adversary. We are used to eating alone and saying, ‘It is our turn to eat.’ Then the eaters go on the rampage. They loot and eat the place clean. Everyone else only looks on and complains. They vilify the eaters. They call them a brood of tribal serpents. They promise the country heaven, should they ascend to the royal seat of eating. In fact, that was exactly what caused trouble last year. A new team of eaters arrived. But the old team would not leave. They bared their sharp teeth and gnarled, red-eyed, like angry canines. Food, saliva, and all dripped from their mouths. The other side, hungry, gnarled even louder. And now you, Annan, you caused them to have half a loaf of bones each.
We are not too happy with you. That could partly explain why some of us are not keen to meet you, here, or in Geneva ‘or wherever we may meet’ – you see what I mean? Besides, we hear that you have a deadly envelope full of anthrax. They have said that Mr Philip Waki gave you the envelope with big names and that you want to give it to the dreaded Louis Moreno Ocampo of The Hague so that he can sort us out. Ehee-hee, Annan. Even you. Do you think we are foolish? What was this thing about you inviting our guys to Geneva? Ati Geneva? Do you think we do not know that Geneva and The Hague are two sides of the same coin? We are aware that they are in the same country and that you are just trying some wicked tricks, to get us to Geneva so that the dreaded Ocampo can arrest us and drag us to The Hague.
Ehee-hee, Annan. And when your Geneva tricks have failed, you come here with your Hague police, pretending that you have just come to greet us. You think we don’t know that you just wanted to arrest our principals and fly with them to Geneva and thereafter take them to The Hague? Mzee Kofi, please forget about meeting our guys; you and that Ocampo of yours. We are going to be furious like Mr Omar Hassan El Bashir of Sudan. If you want to jail us for anything, real or imaginary, you will have to declare our whole continent a jailhouse. That we do not mind. After all, why should you jail our big guys in the same kind of space that you jail a hen in? If you declare Africa to be a jail, we can be restricted here without troubling the civilised people of the world too much.
And another thing, Annan, did you know that ODM is not enjoying her conjugal rights? As the matchmaker and chief priest who presided over this marriage you need to know this. The professors in ODM have complained that PNU is having serious issues with their libido. Either that or, to put it delicately, PNU has discovered a way of stroking themselves into happiness and satisfaction, the way some adolescents do, without the participation of ODM. Or maybe it’s just that ODM-Kenya has done in PNU? But is this not the same thing as self-indulgence by PNU at the expense of ODM? For PNU and ODM-Kenya increasingly look like two organs on the same creature.
Anyway, Annan, stay away and well there in Geneva. We will tell you again after 2012 whether you should come for another wedding. A lot of courtship has begun, already. Possible couples are experimenting all over the place; trying each other out the way you try on shoes at the shoe shop. The junior Laibon will keep you posted. Adios from the land of the ungrateful.

Re: Keeping Mr Hubby in check!

I was so busy scanning their merchandise, when another customer squeezed herself through making her way to another register! The husband said something to the other customer that I did not hear!

“Were you mean to her also?,” asked the wife with great concern! As if she knew that I wanted to know more, she added, “my hubby is usually so mean to people, and so, I must keep him in check!” I was indeed touched by what she said and wondered about its implications!

It used to be that parents kept their children in check, but as things stand, there are both wives and husbands that need to be monitored on what they say and do! Why so?

You see, things like relationships take along time to form but only seconds to destroy for sometime, if not for ever!

Besides, if one is not careful about what they say or do, they will alienate many and thus find themselves alone and isolated!

So it really boils down to this! Since you know what kind of material your husband/wife is made of, and that which he or she is capable of doing to cause drama, you may as this lady, do everything possible, but in love and patience to keep your hubby or wife in check! Will you please?

Just a thought!

KENYA MILITARY RULED OUT MIGINGO WAR

Memo Islanders and Lake Victoria region citizens of Kenya you are own your own!. To
General Kianga and his staff, if you have the any map: old/new or go to Google earth and
see where Migingo Island is situated in Kenya . Migingo Island is 15 Km from Kenya
mainland shores and 250 Km from Uganda. I bet the General and his staff do not know
this!. It is sad and shameful for the General to declare that there are no options that
Kenya armed forces can take to protect our territory. Delegating your responsibilities to
mapmakers or new maps is one way of conceding this Island in public to Uganda. I wish you
could have been ambiguous in your declaration by using words like: all options are open,
are on the table, we have the right to protect and secure our borders by any means, the
government has the right to provide security all it’s citizens . Instead by taking
military option off the table, you General Sir. you have conceded this Island to Uganda.

When it come to protecting the country: no island, district, region or ethnic group is
too small to protect. With due respect General Kianga you cannot be serious when you
say “the territorial dispute between Kenya and Uganda over little Migingo Island is an
issue for map makers to iron out and NOT for ground war” I ask you Sir, what is the
purpose of Kenya armed forces if you cannot protect Kenya territory that you have sworn
to do?. What is the minimum size of land, region or ethnic group that you and your army
will be willing to defend or fight for?

To the readers of this blog, please allow me to share with you the (1982) Great Britain
and Argentina war over ( Falkland Island War in Southern Atlantic Ocean). Falkland
Islands are 480 Km from Argentina and 940 from UK. Despite, the great distance from UK
when Argentina invaded these Islands Margaret Thatcher then the Prime Minister of UK
ordered her military to protect British citizens in these remote Island… where they are
more ship flock than people. UK did not not take any option off the table because these
Islands were too small or waited for the new maps to be drawn or this disputes to be
solved by delegation going to Argentina to beg for the Island back!. The purpose of any
government is to protect its’ territory and provide security to its’ citizens. Does Kenya
leaders and Armed forces understand or know their purpose in this dispute? How would
Kenya react if Sudan, Ethiopia, Somali or Tanzania decide to move/tamper with established
borders lines tomorrow.. will the country wait for new maps to be drawn again?. May be
Migingo Island is too far away from Nairobi and in the eyes of General Kianga and his
staff it is not considered apart of Kenya and is NOT worth going to war over?. Again,
if Kenya government is willing to concede Migingo Island as General Kianga is suggesting
here, what will prevent Uganda from claiming: Mfangano and Rusinga Island the next go
around?. To Gen. Kianga and his staff Uganda flag is flying over Migingo Island and if
you ever dare to venture on the Island you must have Uganda visa/permit to enter the
Island in your own country . It has been said that ” possession is ninth tenth of the
law” ask Kenya fishermen in Migingo Island how true the aforementioned say is in their
daily lives on the Island under Uganda rule.

Any Kenyans who think or belief Migingo Island dispute is only a Luo problem had better
think twice! Any Kenya territory belonged to all Kenyans regardless of our ethnicity or
inter-regional boundaries with in this country. If our army is not willing to put all
options on the table to defend this country then why do they buy all this military
armaments?.The country should N keep using their armed forces / Police only to fight own
citizens during elections and public demonstrations. May be one way to bring Kenya
army/police to protect Migingo Islanders is to have election riots..so Kenya best can
show their mantle to come control the protesters..just may be to help Uganda Police to
suppress Kenya citizens on the Island!. Kenya citizens whose livelihood depend on
Migingo Island deserve security from this government so they can conduct daily business
without Ugandan police prosecution. To the Prime Minister, if you are serious that
“Migingo Island and other Islands belonged to Kenya” make you sure the delegation you
have sent to Kampala comes back with concrete resolution that this Island was never and
will not be controlled by Uganda a minute longer!. One word for all Kenya people ,
General Kianga and Kenya delegation to Uganda is protecting Kenya territorial
sovereignty is worth all the costs!.

KENYAN DELEGATION TO UGANDA IS LIKELY TO ENCOUNTER TOUGHEST TASKS OVER THE DISPUTED MIGINGO ISLAND

Report by Leo Odera Omolo

High powered Kenyan delegation arrived in the Ugandan capital, Kampala this morning as the negotiation on the contentious Migingo fishing Island kicked of earnest..

This come only a day after a Ugandan cabinet Minister was quoted in the local press as saying the meeting would only formalize Kenya,s consent that the disputed Migingo island was actually in Uganda territorial waters.

At the same time more than 400 Kenyan fishermen who were last week ejected out of the disputed Migingo Island in Lake Victoria by Ugandan marine police are reported be facing serious starvation.

The fishermen and their families have ever since been putting g up with the relatives in the villages around Muhuru Bay town on Kenya’s mainland. are reported to be facing serious starvation..

Leaders from Muhuru Division in Nyatike District said the families were now being supported by relatives and friends who appeared to have also run out of food grains.

A civic leader in the area Mt Thomas Makamba appealed to the government of KMenya and th humanitarian organization to help the starving families.

They claim, they lost fishing gears, fish, money and household when they were ordered expelled by Ugandan police last week for having refused to sign temporary immigration document insisting their unwillingness to do so due to the fact that Migingo is on the Kenyan side of the Lake Victoria..

And in Nairobi Kenya’s top military chief yesterday dismissed the disputed fishing island as “ non issue and a minor misunderstanding to be resolved peacefully, and which does not require military intervention at all..

Lt Gen Jeremiah Kianga, the Chief of the General Staff (CGS) had said that the on-going territorial dispute between Kenya and Uganda over the one acre rocky fishing island in Lake Victoria is an issue for map makers to iron out not the sufficient ground for the two country to go full blast for convectional war..

“This is non issue as far as defense is concerned .It is a minor misunderstanding that can be settled quietly,” said the General adding “These are issues for topographers (map marker}

General Kianga comment come in the wake of pressure mounting on the Kenya army to repulse and eject Ugandan soldiers out of the disputed island. .

It also came amid fresh report that more Uganda troops have dramatically landed on the Island which is surrounded by fishing waters, and hoisted their country’s national flag and have since imposed certain stringent condition requiring immigration documents from Kenya fishermen working on the Island and fish traders visiting it provoking MPs representing the affected areas to call for military response.

The Thursday afternoon rare news conference by the top army chief in Kenya
represented a significant step for the normally secretive military and was in response to negative publicity it has received in regard to its recent conduct of operations in Mt Elgon in Western Province where it was accused of torturing and unlawfully executing villages when mopping up rebellious militia group.

On terrorist the top Kenya military man said no Kenya soldier have crossed the border as claimed by the Somalia based el Shabaab an al Qaeda linked radical Somali militia group

The Kenya top most soldier was speaking at the defense head quarter{DOD} in what looked like the first ever scheduled press conference between a Kenya Chief of the General Staff and journalist.

He was accompanied by the Vice CGS Lt Gen Julius Karangi . The Director of military intelligence Brigadier Philip Kameru also attended the rare news conference.

And as the delegation of five cabinet Ministers left yesterday for the tasks the Kenya government position is clear that the disputed fishing island belong to Kenya.

Observers, however. says the Kampala meeting puts to test the diplomatic and legal prowess of the team led by the Foreign Affairs Minister Moses Wetangula.

The other members of the Kenyan delegation includes Immigration Minister Otieno Kajwang’, Internal Security Minister Prof George Saitoti, Lands Minister James Aggrey Orengo, Minister for East Africa Affairs Joseph Kingi.

The negotiation between the two countries is expected to be the toughest as the Kenya’s team consist of well three well accomplished lawyers,

Before departure for Kampala Lands Minister James Orengo was quoted as saying “the constitution and order causes of the two countries recognizes the fact that Migingo belong to Kenya.”

If the talks are handled well an amicable position may be reached, but if they fail the dispute has a potential to foil relations between Kenya and the land locked Uganda a country that relies on her neighbours for its essential supplies, exports and imports..

“There is no need to militarize the issue we have other avenue to address”, Minister Orengo said.

Migingo Island is located 15 Km of the mainland Migori district in south western Kenya, but it covers a distant of 250 km from the nearby by Ugandan Bugiri district in the country eastern region.

Local politicians and MPs from the affected regions along the eastern shore of Lake Victoria have urged the government of Kenya to apply economic sanction against land-locked Uganda including military blockaded of its exports and import from accessing outside world market through the Kenyan the ports of Mombasa. To force the belligerent Kampala regime out of the Kenyan fishing island it had seized

Meanwhile the chairman of Parliamentary and defense committees had accused Uganda of expansionism.

Adnan Keyan also blamed the Kenya government for laxity and inconsistency urging the delegation not to go to Kampala since that would be a waste of time and money..

.But from the Ugandan side, the Minister of State for International Relations Henry Okello Oryema was last night quoted by the Radio Uganda and media houses as saying the Ministers would be signing that both sides have agreed to open up using coordinator.

Report from Migori and Gwassi in Suba districts, which are located along the shorelines of Lake Victoria as saying that Ugandan marine police have now extended their day and night patrol and of all to fish landing beaches deep into Kenya.

The reports says Ugandan were all over the beaches bordering Migingo. They are taking the advantage of the absence of Kenya. It is like they have the country lake

IS RAILA FACING REBELLION BY SOUTHERN NYANZA LUOS?

News Analysis By Leo Odera Omolo

NEWS and information emerging from the greater Southern Nyanza region says that tension is building up between the supporter of the Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga and the region’s professional caucus.

It has been revealed that the professionals and academician s from the region have of late been holding behind the scene consultative meetings in both Nairobi and at home while charting for the way forward on how the residents can free and separated themselves from the Odinga ‘s family influence.

Issues at stake include the recent placement in the government’s plum jobs, appointment of diplomats and lack foresight in the effort to revive the stalled economic outlets, such as Kicomi Ltd, Kenya Breweries Kisumu plant , proper management of the lucrative sugar industry.

The group, according to impeccable source have been holding secret meetings in posh hotels in Nairobi, Homa-Bay, Migori and even in the lakeside City of Kisumu.

The group which comprises clergymen, professionals, academicians and some selected civic leaders are said to be seeking the way forward to build another centre of power gravitation inside Luo-Nyanza, which is devoid of the Odinga’s influence. .But which could work with any group of Kenyan politicians and harmonize inter-tribal and communal relations for mutual benefits of Kenyans.

Also top on the agenda is the plan envisaged to pressurize any government of the day to split the present Nyanza Province into three Provinces., that would groups the Kisii and Kuria communities grouped together in one administrative Province with its headquarters in Kisii town, and the third Province to group all the administrative of Suba, Homa-Bay, Nyatike, Migori, Rongo and Rachuonyo together with the proposed headquarters in either Homa-Bay or Rongo townships.

This school of thought was originally the brainchild of the late Hezekiah N Oyugi, the former powerful Permanent Secretary in-charge of Provincial Administration and Internal Security who had proposed the power devolution way back in 1990. Oyugi had suggested that a new Province covering Southern Nyanza and Kisii regions be established at Kisii town.

However, years later during the Constitutional dispensation conference held at the Bomas of Kenya under Prof. Yash Ghai, the proposal was vehemently opposed by Raila’s supporters who viewed the idea as an attempt to divide the Luo community into a small splitter groups..

Pro-Raila wanted all the Luos to be kept in one huge basket for his own political mileage and control. But the proponents of the idea felt that the splitting of the Nyanza Province into three would be beneficial to the region because it will attract more government funding.

But the Luo intellectuals and professionals have now revisited the idea once again.

The group believes there is leadership vacuum in Nyanza and that there is the need for the region’s residents to built several new centre of power to gravitate in Gusii and greater Southern Nyanza regions.

Several prominent names have been floated. One is that of the Minister for Public Services Dalmas Otieno, who is also the MP for Rongo, the Immigration Minister and Mbita MP Gerald Otieno Kajwang’; and that of the youthful Ndhiwa MP Joshua Orwa Ojode who is an Assistant Minister for Internal Security.

Otieno’s problem is old association with KANU, a party many Luos believed to have masterminded the community’s marginalization and political suppression by the previous regimes of the late President Jomo Kenyatta and the retired President Daniel Arap Moi.,though many maintains that the Minister has matured up politically and can take the mantled of the overall community leadership.

Otieno Kajwang, is being dismissed as being too childish and not a serious person worth trusting with the responsibility of leading the Luo to a higher height of development. At the same time Ojode is seen as an achiever and a dynamic politician who has successfully developed his hitherto backward Ndhiwa constituency to a new hub of massive economic development.

Ojode an is an aggressive politician with unserving loyalty to Raila Odinga. Theyrecaled how the Assistant Minister had sacrificed the Ministerial appointment offered to him by President Mwai Kibaki in 2005 in solidarity with ODM and Raila Odinga.

Ojode is believed to have been disappointed with the allocation and distribution of ministerial posts in the grand coalition government shared on 50-50 basis between President Mwai Kibaki and the Prime Minister Raila Odinga in which he was relegated to an Sssistant Minister instead of the full cabinet. Instead Raila had favoured Otieno Kajwang’ who got away with the Immigration ministerial slot.

But Ojode could not be reached for his immediate comment. He said to be keeping a low profile, and has never appeared in any governmental or political function officiated by Raila Odinga ever since the formation of the grand coalition, though he is said to be extremely loyal to his friend the Prime Minister.

ther burning issues to which Raila must come out clean, is the allegations that he had interfered with the new appointment of the joint officiasl receive manager for both Miwani and Muhoroni Sugar Companies, and allegedly instructed the Kenyan Sugar Board to extend the tenure of the two joint receiver manager Eng. Martin Owiti, and Kipng’etich Bett. The two have been the joint receiver manager for the two facilities for the last four years, but have failed to turn them around. Farmers have gone for months without their cane bills cleared by Muhoroni, while Miwani closed down a couple of years ago.

Eng. Owiti who hails froim Bondo is said to be a brother-in-law to Dr. Oburu Oginga, the eldest brother of Raila Odinga who is also an Assistant Minister for Finance.

The Prime Minister is reported as having recently released ten tractors, which were donated bny the UNDP to the Nyanza Province for the purpose of improving agricultural activities in the region. Raila released the tractors in Bondo his home turf and ignored other agriculturally rich regions where the tractors could be put to a better use of improving food production in the region..

A number of ODM MPs from Luo-Nyanza are said to be secretly backing the separation plan to free the Luos from the Southern region from those from Bondo and Siaya.

While the Prime Minister Odinga is being credited for having taken bold steps to ensure that illegal squatters were evicted from the controversial Mau Forest Complex in the South Rift, he is at the same time being accused for having failed to initiate any meaningful dialogue for the resuscitation of the ailing sugar industry in Nyanza and the improvement of the fishing industry in Lake Victoria..

.Anti-Raila elements in Nyanza are accusing the Prime Minister for lack of total commitment in the real task of poverty eradication. Instead, the PM is said to be busy engaged in promoting politics of hero worshipping and sycophancy.

The professionals in Luo Nyanza are also said to be routing for the communal harmonization between the Luos as and the neighbouring communities irrespective of the political party of affiliation, at the same time blaming the current crop of MP from the region for promoting politics of hatred..

The Professionals from Southern Nyanza are also said to be reaching their counterpart numbers in Siaya Kisumu and Nyando. Several night meeting are said to have taken place in hideouts in Kisumu and Nairobi.

And in one such gatherings speaker after speaker reportedly denounced the Prime Minister much touted campaign to have youths in Luo circumcised as one way of minimizing the effect of HIV/Aid , arguing that such trivialities should not be the priority of the person holding such covenanted position of Premier to handle.

“Circumcision, they argued, should not be the community’s priority. There are other priorities which Raila should tackle with his Luo parliamentary colleagues.

It is only a matter of time before the on-going war between Raila and professionals exploded in the open for public debate. The professionals are also against loose talking such as the recent call by Dr. Oburu Oginga on William Ruto, the Minister for Agriculture to resign over the maize scandal.Oburu action is therefore viewed as being full of arrogance and as such misplaced..

Dr Oburu Oginga and his younger brother must stop the bad habit of rushing to the press on every single issue in this country..They must learn to be cohesive and tolerant because such uncoordinated comments on contentious issue affected a colleague in arm must be avoided at all cost.

We were not able to establish the names of the professional and politicians said to be behind the latest move to isolate Raila Odinga from the Southern Nyanza Luos, though it is true that several meetings have taken place in both Nyanza and Nairobi. The group have scathingly criticized Raila for having distributed government plum jobs to his kith and kin from Bondo and Siaya.

Harun,

I think you’ve got it the opposite. Tribolism, nepotism, and greed, bad policies, bad governance, to my understanding, are some of the sources of poverty in Kenya. Where these thrive, the result is poverty, corruption, lack of equitable distribution of national resources, disparities in every sector of life, just to mention a few. The only way to explain this is that Kenya lacks honest and sound leadership. Remember president calling press conference to talk about his wives. I don’t think this a national concern and it only shows bankruptcy in ideas and insensitivy to national issues. What is happening in Kenya, my countrymen/women, is pathetic.

In my view, poverty is a worse enemy in Kenya than tribalism. In fact, I hold the view that its the crippling poverty bedevelling Kenya that makes tribalism so pronounced.

How else do you explain the fact that the places worst affected by the post-election violence were slums and areas with low-income dwellers? There is something very dangerous with anyone who has lost hope or anyone who perceives they have nothing to lose. The whole concept of ‘its our turn to eat’ stems from the misguided notion that once we have someone from our tribe in power, then we will have enough to eat, our children will go to better schools, etc.

If we sorted out poverty, I believe a lot of the other problems affecting us would appear much easier to solve.

YPs_Ke,
Hey members am seated behind this screen and thinking of the said topic…..Tribalism or Poverty, which is Kenya’s biggest enemy?

Are the two intertwined or they are independent of each other?

Secondly what major issues will form part of campaign agenda come 2012 elections?

1. Constitution review ——– A new constitution within 50 days in office,

2. Zero tolerance to corruption ——- all perpetrators of past scandals to be paid without further investigation,

3. Equal distribution of resources ——- all provinces to get equal Provincial Development Fund,

4. Food security ——– finding long term solution to food problems in Kenya, Leasing land to foreign countries i.e. Qatar, Israel etc

5. Landlessness ——– I will be hunted if I say anything here!

6. Tackling rising insecurity ——-

I think our “leaders” (read hyenas) are very poor thinkers. Whenever elections are held and somebody loses, accepting is very difficult…..it seems they are stuck in the scarce mentality! No body sees serving Kenya in the capacity of an Opposition leader if nothing……you gotta be in the government by all means……no wonder!

We Kenyan voters are to blame as well…….we/I play into tribal hatred being spread amongst us by the “vipers” and believe what they say as the gospel truth! Next time guys, I pray and hope that we have a change of heart and mind…..we shall vote in good leadership and help create Kenya anew!

Let us respond professionally to help find a common ground as a people!

Mungiki is a creation of Moi

1] Mungiki is a creation of Moi
It might sound funny, but walk with me down memory lane. Those days when Kanu was baba na mama. When kanu youth wingers called the shots. When kanu youth wingers could invade your home and impound your chicken, and all this with the tacit approval from the President, to the provincial administration.
Those were the days that all the youths, more so in central province got the idea that being jobless was beneficial. With the ideas having come from the then dreaded kanu youth wingers, the groups of Jirongo and Ruto, Youth for Kanu 92 was just an improvement of kanu youth wingers.
They had learnt under the tutelage of Moi that you could coarse and blackmail to get money. You could invade and attack to get money. When Kanu appeared to be loosing steam, the youths in central province, being money minded, had learned quickly and they mutated from kanu youth wingers, to Youth for Kanu 92, to Mungiki.
The end is what you have now.
2] Ruto is sinking
At the time Kenya went for the Referendum in 2005, William Samoei Ruto was able to hoodwink Kenyans that he had some semblance of democracy in him. So eloquent was he in the campaign trail that many Kenyans saw in him a possible future president.
I am sorry that has gone with the winds.
Again, take with me a walk down memory lane; immediately after the referendum win, Ruto started discussions with one Kalonzo Musyoka, he who would in 2007 betray the trust of Kenyans. When he saw that Raila was gaining an upper hand in Rift Valley without him, Ruto promptly jumped ship and strategically joined Team Raila. He knew that a Raila win in Rift Valley was going to add value to him if he played himself strategically.
After Raila won the last elections and signs were clear that Kibaki was stealing the votes, Ruto was strategically at KICC not to fight for Raila, but to fight for William Ruto. He was able to make Kenyans forget that he was the architect of the infamous Youth for Kanu 92. He made Kenyans forget that as rich as he is, he cannot account for how he acquired this wealth.
Then Ruto started playing mind games with Hon Raila. He could go back to his backyard to antagonize Raila at any given opportunity. In between, he would be sneaked to state house for debriefing. He would come back and steal some maize, go back to state house for more debriefings, go to Rift Valley to insight the people against Raila and on and on.
He then rolled out a massive theft of maize and gave his supporters the leeway. This made Kenyans for the first time to buy maize at 120.00 per 2kg packet. I doubt if Kenyans can trust this maize thief. He then bank rolls parliament with proceeds from the maize theft, helped by the proceeds from oil theft [Kiraitu], and he wins. But this does not vindicate him in the eye of Kenyans; he is still a maize thief and many Kenyans are dying of hunger because Ruto played politics with our maize. [Where playing means stealing].
Of late, he is organizing Kanu to reclaim power. He has forgotten what kanu did to the Kenyan economy that made Kenyans vote kanu out in 2002. He has forgotten that Kenyans know how he made his money.. He has forgotten that Kenyans can see through him. Ruto thinks that he is very smart, that he is able. He is just but a maize thief. And we cannot trust such a turn coat with Kenya. If we are to vote in another Kanlenjin, he will not be Ruto. Or Ruto is the best from there? Again, after killing many Kikuyus in Rift Valley and making many more homeless, is Ruto the kind of saviour the Kikuyu want? Gime me a break! As for the Kikuyus, after sacking all Kalenjins from government, can they pretend to be friends with the same Kalenjins now?
Too sad he will never be the President of Kenya. He could only be when elections will be open to thieves only. God save Kenya from the Ruto evil schemes.
3] Uhuru Kenyatta
This is the only person who abdicated the office of the leader of official opposition to join a sitting president who happens to be his tribesman. The case was so clear; power to remain in the house of mumbi for ever.
Then he came out to organize the mungiki attack against the Luo in Naivasha. He even said as much in several rallies across central province. He is the only person besides Ruto who appears deeply tribal even as he wants the presidency. He hates the Luo with a passion. Honestly, can Kenyans choose such an avowed tribalist to the presidency. The little said about Uhuru the better. Just watch him, look at his eyes and tell me if you can see leadership. The man is so angry. He could kill all the Luos on sight.
4] Migingo Island
Has it ever crossed your mind that the Commander-in-Chief of our Armed Forces has kept a studious silence as Uganda annexes Migingo Island? Do you ever know what he discusses with Museveni? Do you remember how with the help of Museveni they killed many people in kisumu? That should tell you what Kibaki is.
5] Kenyans
I must be very clear on this. Kenya has 42 tribes officially. Since Independence we have had 2 Kikuyu presidents and 1 Kalenjin President. Time has come for someone else. These people have proved that they cannot manage the affairs of Kenya to the best interest of Kenyans.
Kenya is a failed state basically due to the inept leadership from the 2 Kikuyus and the 1 Kalenjin. Not that the Kikuyus and the Kalenjins are bad. But Uhuru and Ruto are the wrong people to tell Kenyans what Kenyans want. Uhuru was imposed on leadership against his will, while Ruto does not see any leadership position from which he cannot steal.
Kenyans must move on and test someone else. That someone else will be Raila Odinga. He is the only person present on the scene who can inspire change if given the reigns. Look at how cool the man is as he is being conned of leadership by Kibaki. Look at how cool the man is as Ruto plays childish games at his backyard. Look at how cool he is handlying his duties against all huddles.
He has the level head that can hold Kenya together. Let us give him a try and shun tribalism to the dustbin of history.
Oh, what about Kalonzo Musyoka? He is lost.

Kenya needs a real change. Uhuru/Ruto alliance is change and does not insinuate change in any way means or form. While the anti-kenya crusade will not stop until they see this country bogged down by such a suggestion that Uhuru forms an alliance with Ruto, to get Kalenjin votes because let us face it…do you think Uhuru, being a kikuyu will be ready to serve under Ruto? and will the Kalenjin voters switch camp from ODM to support Uhuru..a project that failed in 2000 and blackmailed them in 2007 by financing hooligans and criminals to kill the very Kalenjins? Ruto should tread carefully by these destructive romours and put a stop to them. My take is that PLO, Mati or Githongo, while they may have succeeded in what they have done in the past, may not be good political leaders and this may be their downside. The right leader is among the ordinary Kenyans presently. That person could currently be a school teacher, a doctor, a lawyer, a business owner, an civil rights activist who knows. We need to vet our leaders more carefully while the time is available. Let us avoid euphoric applause to suggested leaders..

Media are the most corrupt of all and the most sinful.

Uhuru/ Ruto is a patent outcome of an oooooold trick. Noone will ever know who is and who isn’t a real Moi boy.

All politics is a red herring from the real deal which is the exercise of bringing the people’s voice together help start a new constitution.

Hallo good members. I love the politics of Kenya and Kenyan
themselves. I think sometimes the media is also run out of stories,
they divert and instead of playing their rightful role of informing,

educating as well as voicing the voiceless majority…they out
monetary gains ahead of their sacred duties mentioned earlier.
They have tried much when they started talking of diverted
politics…that our politicians are wasting time politicking at the
expense of real issues…..hunger, food insecurity and infrastructure
development, rising costs of living – fuel and food.

The Ruto – Uhuru alliance has since diverted the good course the media
started to fight….highlighting the bad culture of our leaders and
their reluctance to attend to electorate needs. How does this benefit

us as Kenyans….if the said alliance goes ahead..then am sure Kenya
will become the most hopeless of all countries in Africa! For sure we
know the 2002 grouping…..Uhuru and Ruto were in KANU….together!
What will their getting together bring to us!

The same to any other old guard who will solicit for our votes in
2012…..I find no one fit to have my vote save may be Githongo, Mati,
PLO, etc….

Wait a minute!
How can a bunch of people who lay claim to some kind of intelligence
get into a trap like this?

Do you seriously think that the police and their backers would have
wanted that demonstration to end peacefully?! Really?

What other reason would they have had in the future to outlaw
demonstrations or mass action? If the ‘conventionally’ rowdy students
could stage a peaceful mass action, what reason would they have to
stop the highly organized Civil Society from protesting Government
ills?

How many times have the police denied people permission to stage mass
action on the pretext of insecurity???
How many times have you had them saying thugs would join in and cause
chaos??? Of course thugs could take advantage of the situation and
destroy property because that’s what thugs do! And that is why the law
requires that you notice the police so they can put proper measures
into place to ensure that both the protesters and private property is
protected.

I have on many occasions been involved in mass action. All of those
times, I was in the company of people who WOULD NEVER throw stones at
the police. And ALL those times we were tear gassed!… That is to say,
ALL those times, it is the police that RIOTED!

I am of the qualified opinion that the disruptions were planned by the
police through their moles in the student body! If the police did
their job properly, there would NEVER had been vehicles to push and
neither would the students have gotten near any property to destroy!!!

They did not want that demonstration to take place on the pretext that
Mungiki would join in and cause chaos. Did you see any Mungiki
battling the Police anywhere? So where did that “Intelligence” come
from?

This country must do everything it takes to ensure members of the
public can participate in Non-Violent actions of petitioning the
authorities when they are displeased! The Police MUST do their job –
which is to protect life and property WITHOUT infringing on the rights
of other citizens to PEACEABLY ASSEMBLE!

Whatever we do, we must not fall into the trap laid by the sustained
propaganda war being carried by the Police against the Civil
citizenry!

Re: Hi Doc!

While on earth, the man of Galilee, was daily asked to explain/expound on certain subjects! While some of them were politically motivated, others were genuine questions.

So busy as He was, He took time to answer the questions in ways that I have always admired! It’s interesting that the gospel writers sometimes ends with this clause “After that…no one dared to ask any more questions!

Even though I have over the years studied the gospels in great humility, I don’t seem to have had enough! Indeed, I will continue the search!

The Pauline epistles, give us information on another great man-the apostle Paul- who was ever busy. That said, he spent some of his time answering questions or trying to clear some misunderstandings.

From time to time, I find myself called upon to answer some questions! Much as some of this questions are sensitive, they need to be answered!

I received a call from another state whereby this friend who had bought my autobiography,”Except for the Lord,” and was calling to order for the next one,”my midnight hour,”wanted to know why I prefer to use one title-Pr Birai- over the other title-Dr Birai.

Since I have been asked that question several times, let me attempt to answer it in great humility!

In all that I do-preach, write articles, write books, and help others-I want the man of Galilee and not me to be seen! Why!

-I have come along way! No one knew that I would be alive today, be where I am, and do that which I am doing!
-The good Lord, has brought me a long way. He and I have come a long way! So much that the Psalmist cry, “What can I render unto my lord for all His goodness unto me,”(Psalms116:12,) has been the cry of my heart for many years!
-During my many years of suffering, I prayed to God to help me attain the highest education possible and yet remain as humble as the man Moses; yea, more than Moses, the man of Galilee, Himself!
-And because of this, all that I care for is the world to know me as a humble servant of God! So that I don’t confuse you, I have no quarrels whatsoever with those who have worked so hard to use their titles! I have very great respect to all and use titles that apply to each one!
-I have told my wife and children that the day I go the way of my fore fathers, all I want people to remember of me is that I loved the Lord of the vineyard and all His children without partiality!

And so dear friends that is why I love it when one calls me-Hi pastor! rather than Hi Doc!

Oh! each day I am pleading and crying to become like Him in all that I do! How about you!

Blessings.

This Wednesday, a police officer was gunned down by armed robbers near Kencom House. The Kenyan Community Abroad (KCA) takes this opportunity to send a message of condolence to friends, family members and relatives of those whose lives have been cut shot by gunmen.
We demand thorough and impartial investigations into these deaths.
KCA asks all leaders, the police and all Kenyans to take steps towards protecting the sanctity of human life. We condemn any form of violence, crime or armed terror. We ask the Kenyan police to work together with law abiding citizens to make Kenya a secure country.
While we urge the government to deal decisively with any group causing terror in the country, we state categorically that only due process and the rule of law should condemn or exonerate anyone involved in criminal activities.

John Kamau if You understand the leadership order in Kenya then you are aware that Mwaki Kibaki is the HEAD OF STATE and HEAD OF GOVERNMENT..Stop spreading the blame game and put the blame where it belongs. Raila is working under a very tight condition where he has no powers to make the changes that he should make, while Kibaki feels that his family matters are more important than national matters. Since the killings you are talking about occured has “YOUR DULY ELECTED PRESIDENT SAID ANYTHING?”

At least Raila has come out and condenmed the Killings..Where is your President John Kamau? This lying by blaming everybody will not wash..We know that Kibaki has failed..stop this fallacy of two principals and put the blame where it belongs..Even before 2007 Kibaki had failed (Goldenberg..Anglo-leasing..tribalism..standard raid..artur scandal and many more) but tribalists still voted for him for one reason that he spoke the same language as them. Mount Kenya elite have failed this country by brainwashing their people to believe in tribalism..Kenya today is a failed state because of Mount Kenya elites supported by masses who are brainwashed to believe that Kenya’s leadership is an entitlement to them. Its very sad that a group of people can bring a good country like kenya to its knees..very sad John Kamau…very sad…

Another sad day for Kenya,
Two young promising sons of Kenya fallen under the hail

have become part of the system..
Kenyans watch the sad news on TV and listen to other news
broadcasts via radios, Kenyans are eagerly waiting for the
readership of President Kibaki and Prime minster Raila
Ondinga to show us the way forward. What do they see? Same
old circus: The Government is to blame for this heinous
crime; says Raila.
But even as Kenyans are dying of hunger the masters of
deceit are busy colluding with foreigners albeit at a
distance. Mungiki is roaming our streets freely, neither
Raila nor his cronies raising a finger when this thugs run
amok killing and destroying peoples lives. Some thing is
wrong. Raila raises the issue of 50-50 JUST AS ALL THIS IS
going on. Before you shout the loudest condemning me, let me
repeat…. Kibaki has Failed Kenyans and Raila is no MOSES.
This two should quit the circus and Give Kenyans a new
constitution NOW. Kenyans will take it from there.

KENYAN NEWSMEN SPENT HOURS IN UGANDAN SECURITY CUSTODY FOR VISITNG THE DISPUTED MIGINGO FISHING ISLAND

Leo Odera Omolo

FOUR Kenyan journalists who visited the disputed tiny Migingo Island spent several hours in the custody of Ugandans authorities while under intensive interrogation
The incident took place on Tuesday this week, when a group of Kenyan newsmen boarded a boat and headed for the disputed island from the Kenyan port of Muhuru-Bay, which is only a few kilometers from the Kenya-Tanzania borders.

The team from the Nation Group of Newspapers and radio stations were held for several hours while being interrogated by a contingent of Uganda marine police boat which had intercepted their boat.

The journalists were ,however, later set free after a senior police officer from Kampala had called security personnel stationed on the tiny one acre island and instructed them to have the journalists freed..

The team’s boat was intercepted and the journalists bundled into a Uganda marine patrol boat they were detained on the island and there cameras note book and money confiscated.

However, a senior police officer from Kampala called to have the newsmen freed
Those briefly detained were Patrick Mayoyo, Ouko Okusa, Jacob Owiti and Migori based NATION’S scribe Elisha Otieno.

The officer in charge of the island Richard Balenzi told the team they had information that a group of Kenyan security personnel was planning to confront the Ugandan soldiers guarding the tiny island.. And that is why the security on the island had remained in the state of alertness for twenty four hours..

The journalists were the latest victim of the summering row that has been going on between Kenya and Uganda over the ownership of the tiny fishing island in the Lake Victoria which is located very close to the Kenyan side of the Lake Victoria shoreline

Kenyan fishermen on the rocky island numbering about 500 are frequently harassed and arrested for trespass by Uganda security personnel, accusing them of trespass.
.
Uganda deployed security forces on the island, but Kenya withdrew its team of administration police officers it had sent to the islandt after tension heightened.
Instead Nairobi has chosen the diplomatic path to the chagrin of local leaders’ and fishermen who get a large catch of the highly prized Nile perch in the deep waters around it

Migingo Island is strategic, especially for Kenyan fishermen who fetch a large catches of Nile perch in the deep waters around it.

Meanwhile representatives of the two countries are expected to meet tomorrow in the Ugandan capital, Kampala to work out how the two countries could resolve the controversy surrounding the ownership of the tiny island.
.

Four Kenyans Ministers leave for Uganda this afternoon for tentative negotiations to end a tussle over Migingo Island.

The team is headed by Foreign Affairs Minister Moses Wetangula who will be accompanied by among others who include James Agrrey Orengo (Lands) Dr Paul Otuoma (Fisheries) Otieno kajwang (Immigration) and Jeffa kingi (East African Community Affairs..

Then Kenyan Ministerial delegation will be accompanied by a team of experts for talks with their Ugandan counterparts.

Other Kenyan government officials in the delegation include Migori DC Julius Mutula, Internal Security Permanent Secretary Francis Kimemia his East African Community counterpart David Nalo and Nyanza deputy Provincial Commissioner Joseph Irungu.

The Kenyan delegation left Nairobi by air this morning for Kampala where the talks will be held from 12 and 13the March. The team will join a technical Kenyan team which is already in Uganda ahead of the two days meeting, which will try to resolve the impasse.

Ugandan security officers recently invaded Migingo Island and reportedly ejected Kenyan fishermen.

Ugandan security officers recently invaded Migingo and reportedly ejected Kenyan security officials and fishermen.

The officers are reportedly introduced levies on fishermen willing to continue fishing at the island sparking off an uproar from the local leaders who felt Migingo Island belonged to Kenya and as such her citizens cannot afford to pay fishing taxes and trade to another country/

Since then, Kenyan fishermen have alleged various forms of harassment at the hands of the Ugandan security and administrative personnel
The Ugandans have hoisted their national flag at the island.
Tomorrow’s meeting will take place amid rising tension over the of ugunja has pulled mo0re than 100 marine police officers to guard the island

Kenyan fishermen wishing to live on the island have been told to apply for special visa/permits.

Fishermen have reported this is increasingly getting difficult for them to continue fishing on the island due to increased military activities and police patrols.

The place has been turned into a security operation area and the Ugandan soldiers are using intensive military security surveillance ,”,said the beach leader Mr. Bernard Jabuya (Kenyan).

He said the visitor’s could be spotted as soon as they get into the water on the Kenyan xxx making it difficult for normal fishing activities to go on.

Re: Quiting Walmart!

I have been with Walmart as a cashier since September 30th, 2008! Since then, I have learned several lessons in great humility, some of which I have shared with you!

That said, yesterday, I tendered my resignation with effect from March 24th, 2009! Their reaction, was a humbling experience to me. I truly thank the good Lord for using me to be a witness for Him. They were unwilling to let me go. They went to an extend of requesting me to work even if it means once a week.

Much as I love cashier work, it has become hard working 30-40 hours a week and 40 plus hours as a pastor. Home visitation and hospital visitation that I love so much have suffered greatly!

Besides, I need to grow Maranatha, help raise funds so as to buy our God a house of worship, and even help plant more churches in Minnesota and other States.

The Lord has therefore impressed upon me to quit Walmart at this very challenging economic turn down times and concentrate on preaching the word.

As always, my thoughts and prayers are with all those that I love like you! That’s why I spent a good portion of my time to put down thoughts and send them your way.

It’s in view of this that I wish to solicit for your prayers once more on my ministry. Pray that I may be able to decrease so that the man of Galilee will increase; Yea, more than that, pray that I may continue to learn in great humility at the feet of the cross.

Also pray that I may be able to reach many through visitation, e-mails, and my books! Will you promise to pray for me?

Thanks a million.

What about discussing how we can feed our starving kenyans? The 24 hour for Kenya is on again this friday. lets all visit our nearest Uchumi and Nakumatt super markets and donate something to save a life.

If our MP’s are now forming tribunals to even look into wether they should pay taxes or not which was the first issue when they got into parliament, when will they ever get to famine issues which i know is among the last issues in their list of priorities???

Please lets stop devisive talks and promote peace, national unity and reconciliation. Jayne Wachira we in this forum are not going to entertain lies juts because
someone does not want to hear the truth. People like Mutula Kilonzo are used to
political sycophancy just like Alfred Mutua and Moses Wetangula and that kind of
behavior is killing this country, where a leader fights for his own stomach and
not the people of Kenya.

If Kibaki has failed as he has and made Kenya a failed state, we shall surely
say that..If Mutula is misleading this country with such myopic and useless talk
then we shall surely say it..If Alfred Mutua is misleading and misinforming this
country,we shall surely point that out…this is a PROGRESSIVE
FORUM..and a
forum for pleasing anybody..We are a progressive youth who believe that with

Kenyans cannot demand results from a leader like Kibaki who will only call a

corruption..not constitutional review..not confusion in the coalition..not
insecurity in the country..we shall not accept such negligence..we shall talk
about it..You cannot demand results from a mouthy Minister like Mutula
Kilonzo..Doesnt he know that ODM-Kenya was lst in december polls?..Lets be
realistic..and pint out ills nomatter where the Minister hails from..we really
dont care where they come from..what Kenyans want are straightforward leaders
who serve the people and who lead from the front…

Committment to Public Demands is What is Needed

Subject: Committment to Public Demands is What is Needed

Folks,

First things first. It is logical to tackle issues from existing points where mistakes are pinpointed to improve situation for the future. Our future here is 2012. We want food now to save lives in the present. We want responsible good leadership to provide constitutional reform now so that, come 2012 we have policy beacons guides to follow for 2012 election. Without which there will be no election come 2012.

However, there is a team entrusted to do just that. This team is headed by President Kibaki and PM Raila who together own Grand Coalition Government with Party Titles of PNU and ODM. The two teams are on the field playing. If at this point their playing match do not appeal or are below standards then they face disqualification. Disqualification will be met with New Political Order to complete unfinished work by the two grouping parties after which the platform will be levelled to provide for fresh Teams on a race, championing for
fresh mandate for 2012. It will be a waste of time for the likes of Ruto and Uhuru and the rest to scramble for election now. It is foolshardy. New emerging groups (who are not in the current leadership) should show their skills by sharpening their tools now, doing what needs done, what the electorate expects of them and deliver what needs delivered, or challenge what need challenged, confront presents leaders with reality and facts. They should be busy taking present leadership to task to make sure they deliver according to their promises, what needs done and where they have stumbled. We have to discuss in all forums issue oriented backed with facts.

My take therefore, PM Raila for once did the right thing to be able to stand out his ground and call it shots at this moment of grief. It is about time bad boys who have been enjoying protection of the few powerful Mt. Kenya Mafia in the Government system be told off. They are not working for the interest of the Public but of their own stomach. Even though Raila and ODM team have a half backed cake presently, they still have power enough to wield towards wishes of the electorate. With or without powers in the set-up of present ruling Coalition Government, the goal can still be achieved through pressure. They are better off fixing loopholes bit by pieces by denouncing corruption and pushing constitutional change to be top in their Agenda. One good thing PM Raila can do is to speak up aggresively, demonstratively and consistently, leaning on constructive advisors not coward or petty selfish types, to shout down the likes of Mutua, Chief of Police Mr. Ali, Uhuru, Beth Mugo etc., (the people will hear and the world will hear too). Keeping quite or lying low signals a sell-out an inability to function. He must resist to be the salt of Mt. Kenya Mafia dictates. He can only speak and provide change within while the system last not without. If he can do that, he will gain majoirity support and people can start to believe in him.

No human being has the right to be silenced by the gun however immoral, wicked or lithal gun-trotting condemned mafia gang. People must be given a judicial fair hearing and trial and be judged according to the law that prevails, every Citizen without discrimination has a right for fair trial.

What the Government did here was, they rushed to cover-up by silencing these unfortunate people (who were not given chance to defend themselves) so to drum their case home, that these young people are from a deadly gang. Showing Mungiki on TV to prove a case as bad boys without arraigning them in court demonstrates a failed system scrumbling and panicking for cover-up.

Yes, Alston’s report must be adhered to. Mr. Wako and the Police chief Mr. Ali as first suspects, must explain while behind bars, sequences as contained in Alston’s report. Police must not take laws in their own hands, they are creating fear amongst people. Freedome of speech is everyones right.

We all know Mungiki is a dangerous group, but all we see is, we are treated to a movie that the Government is trying to hide something which must be unveiled. We do not want to see people like Mutua who keep trying to preach the gospel under influence.

If Raila would continue to move at this pace, we might say, we are heading somewhere to salvage Kenya. We will not accept intimidation or pressure by allowing Kenyan Government to silence people. It will not work. The PNU group have to stop this kind of drama. 2012 is still too far. We need to steadfastly count on results not stagnation or some kind of shift gear down the cliff. He must stay focused on achieving track. Nothing comes easy, and one cannot relax or sleep when war is up-scale. Raila must show genuine compasion to the plights of pathetic situation of people and not just a temporary curtain demonstration before the camera. He needs to challenge and tell people where all these donor money disappear to once they are received into the country, he must find out through the Finance Ministry and tell the public. We are concerned because this big donor money coming in, desappears mysteriously once it gets into the country. It does not fizzle down to rescue the people, some of which (like maize) disappear to the neighbouring countries where they are sold while Kenyans are starving to death. PM Raila needs proper set-up machinery of the Administration Team to help him do his work efficiently. He needs to have focused clear minded advisors to help him think straight, so he can be able to respond by diving into issues in a spar of moment to salvage situations before they go out of hand. He needs to have a crucial list of activities he want to pursue in a given time frame (say 100 days from now) to be managed by his Administrative Team for forward strategy plan of action. He must entrust his elected Members of Parliament with underscored activities agenda on a by-weekly commissioning. That is what he needs to do, and that is what I expect he should do to be able to cross to Canaan. Yes, Kenya can be salvaged from a Failed State with action pact. Ofcourse, we all love Kenya, but we want a reliable leader, someone who can be trusted no matter who it is.

Let us look on the other side of the coin. How the Mungiki was formed. One thing is very clear that it begun as a religious Kikuyu sect. They were used by the GEMA to cause meyhem during election time. They were thugs for hire. They were politically balooned by the Mt. Kenya Mafia and became unmanageable. They started negotiating for their demands deals which made them fall out of favour with President Kibaki. Their leadership were seen going to State House to meet with Kibaki Team during 2007 preparation for election and after but Kibaki and Team has denied that never happened.

The saying goes, you create a monster, the moster will sooner or later get out of control and eventually overpowers and consumes the owner. Especially when the leadership break-up to form diverse interest groupings. The other reason is when their leadership squables go separate ways, their united front breaks up in divisions forming rebel groups squads headed by different marshals. The Mt. Kenya Mafia did not therefore, have control over the monster after it grew oversize and demands vs. supply stopped matching. It became difficult to contain the group, they got devided as they moved away upon leadership wrangles chasing 2012. They became too powerful with sofisticated weaponry to a point they commanded their own demands as they disintegrated. In order to survive they offered available services to political environment willing buyer willing seller. As the Mt. Kenya Mafia and other PNU of Central leadership groupings eyeing for 2012 begin to disintegrate amongst themselves, they too got divided into groups with independent leadership for divegent opportunities to support varying interests.

Mt. Kenya group must have been terrified when information were leaked to UN Reporteaur Mr. Alston over extraordinary killings by the Police. What is possible, they may have eliminated GPO and partner to cover-up and destroy evidence. In this case, Saitoti should join Wako and Police boss by stepping down from Public Office while investigations are going on.

Consequently, Ruto is no majic bullet win win strategy for ODM. Without him or moving out of Ruto from ODM to join Uhuru is no threat to ODM as long as ODM cleans house and start working as is expected of them by the Public. Kenyans want to enlist corruption behind their back, they want to see change taking effect. This is the time ODM with their half-baked-cake should move to the right direction where the wind is seen to be blowing to. They cannot afford to sit on their comfort chairs, but must work alongside with the general public to wipe corruption, and provide for the much needed constitution reform.

The ODM as a party have enough Silver Bullets to penetrate the dwiddling political jungle before the declaration that “Kenya is a failed State”. This is possible only when they pay attention to the peoples’ cries. Before coalition government is dissolved, Raila must put up a concerted efforts to work towards change and must be seen doing so before change change him as well.

My prayers again to the family of the departed. It is not easy, but take heart. Thank you all and God Bless Kenya.

Raila on the warpath

By SUNDAY NATION TeamPosted Saturday, March 7 2009 at 21:43
In Summary
• Prime Minister accuses security forces of killing innocent people
Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Saturday tore into the country’s security agencies over extrajudicial killings and said acts of impunity must be brought to an end and the rule of law restored.
Mr Odinga spoke a day after the US Embassy in Nairobi offered help in investigating the latest killings – those of Oscar Foundation director Oscar King’ara and official Paul Oulu.
And the matter threatened to throw the struggling grand coalition government into a fresh crisis over the strong positions taken by cabinet ministers.
The Prime Minister, one of the two principals in the coalition, has twice this week lashed out at the same government he serves and half of whose Cabinet members belong to his ODM party.
Mr Odinga appears to be growing frustrated with the government he helped form a year ago and this week asked for a renegotiation of the deal that brought his ODM and President Kibaki’s Party of National Unity together.
On Friday, he fired a salvo at government spokesperson Alfred Mutua saying that he did not speak for the grand coalition government.
Mr Mutua issued a statement on Wednesday alerting the public that the Oscar Foundation and members of the proscribed Mungiki sect were planning to paralyse transport the following day and warned that the law would take its course.
The protests went ahead Thursday, but the day ended tragically with the execution-style killings of Mr King’ara and Mr Oulu.
On Saturday Mr Odinga called for a halt to the “rule by the gun the security officers have displayed while purporting to discharge their duties in recent times. People should not be shot without following the due process of the law. We have had cases where the officers shoot dead innocent citizens before they plant a gun on the body of the deceased.”
He attributed the lawlessness to the collapse of the country’s justice system and said the office of the Attorney-General was guilty of abetting the practice after officers implicate defenceless people with trumped up charges to justify their actions.
On Saturday the police said they were questioning six people in connection with the killings Thursday evening near the junction of Mamlaka Road and State House Road
Intense scrutiny
Two weeks ago, the police and the AG came under intense scrutiny in a report prepared by UN special rapporteur on extrajudicial killings Philip Alston who accused the force of engaging in such killings, sparking outrage from the public.
Speaking in his Gatundu South constituency, Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta called on security forces to ensure that the killers of the two human rights activists were apprehended immediately.
“We need justice, and police should speed up investigations. People should also stop politicising the killing and instead seek the truth … you cannot politicise everything,” Mr Kenyatta said.
“We should stop persistent wrangles in the coalition and concentrate on solving problems that face Kenyans for development. We should stop shouting at each other every now and then. ODM should accept whatever the party has been given and serve Kenyans.”
The Sunday Nation learnt that the US government has offered the services of Nairobi-based detectives from the US Federal Bureau of Investigation to investigate Thursday’s killings. A diplomatic note to the Foreign Affairs ministry says the American detectives are ready to “offer immediate assistance.”
“The FBI within the US Mission (Nairobi embassy) is standing by and is able to begin working immediately on the investigation,” read part of the note dated March 6, 2009
In Kirinyaga, Justice minister Martha Karua said calls by political leaders and other Kenyans to bring the FBI and other foreign police agencies into the investigation were a sign of grave national concern.
“The public is losing faith in us who are in the government and now want foreigners to carry out probe into crimes committed against humanity in our country,” she said. She said the reaction of Kenyans was a wake-up call to the government.
“For Kenyans to have confidence in what we are doing, then something should be done to improve the performance of the institutions in the spotlight,” she said.
But Public Health minister Beth Mugo insisted the country’s institutions were strong and Kenya did not need foreigners to help solve the killings of Mr King’ara and Mr Oulu.
Criminal activities
“We are a mature nation with strong institutions which we have faith in. We must trust these institutions to look into these criminal activities and take legal action as fast as possible,” she said.
On Friday, Mr Odinga appealed for international investigators to take over the case, but Police Commissioner Hussein Ali said his officers are competent and would continue handling the matter.
The Sunday Nation has learnt that two teams of local detectives have been assigned the investigation. Police say they have been fighting to contain Mungiki, a secretive group accused of beheading and mutilating their victims and levying illegal taxes on the matatu industry and other businesses .
Earlier on Thursday Mr King’ara had spoken by mobile phone to an official of the Kenya National Human Rights Commission (KNHCR) complaining that he was being trailed by people he suspected to be police officers.
“But little did we know that it would end so tragically,” the KNHCR official, who declined to be named for his own safety, told the Sunday Nation.
According to people who are said to have witnessed the early evening shooting by several men who had blocked the victims’ vehicle with their cars, the attackers grabbed the men’s phones, removed the SIM cards and smashed the sets.
The victims had visited various parts of the city during the day to assess the success of the protest that sought, among other things, to force Maj-Gen Ali and Mr Wako to resign.
The protest paralysed transport in various parts of Nairobi, especially Kayole, Kangemi, Banana and Kawangware.
It also affected towns in Central Kenya including Thika, Nyeri, Murang’a and Nyahururu.
Proposed reforms
On Saturday, Mr Odinga told mourners in Siaya district during the burial of historian Prof Atieno Odhiambo that it was time the proposed reforms in the police force were put into effect to redeem the waning public confidence in law enforcement agencies.
Speaking at Alliance Girls’ High School, Budalang’i MP Ababu Namwamba said, “any help that can support the course of justice is welcome, especially at a time when the police have been accused of incompetence.”
The MP also asked the government to demonstrate a serious legal effort to destroy criminal gangs that threaten the peace and security of citizens. “We can fight crime legally without killing people,” he said.
On Thursday night, a University of Nairobi student was shot dead in a confrontation with police after Mr King’ara and Mr Oulu were killed.

I wanna thank you for your comforting message and at the same time try to underscore you and everyone who thinks that Raila is no MOSES anymore. For any Kenyan that is following these leaders very closely can tell where the problem lies. It is politics as usual. For one I want everyone to remember that this is not the government that we can hold Raila responsible for and if you doubt my words read very carefully what the other side is breathing out, then you can absolutely understand what is going on. Of course we’re seeing a lot of corruption cases in this government, but we still don’t know how bad it could have been if Kikuyu’s were left to run this nation by themselves as they had opted to do by stealing the elections in the first place. So we can address the problems of to day and yesterday, but we must never forget about the history of the past ie Anglo leasing, standard media mess, Armenian brothers, constitutional reforms mess, selling of regency Hotel and so many others. Bottom line, we must never expect anything crucial from this government, because Kibaki and Raila are two sworn enemies who are forced to marry each other and up to this moment they don’t know WHO is a man and who is a woman.

He is lost.

REGIONAL ENERGY EXPERTS TO HOLD THREE DAYS CONFERENCE ON OIL AND GAS EXPLORATION IN MOMBASA THIS WEEK

Business report by leo odera omolo

East African community partner states are this week converging in the Kenya’s coastal port City of 0Mombasa for an energy conference with oil and sea exploration taking the center stage at the three days workshop

The conference will take place between Wednesday and Friday where local petroleum experts will join their peers from Tanzania ,Uganda , Rwanda , and Burundi to explore petroleum potential and investment opportunities in the region.

This is the second time Kenya will host the conference since 2006 with 600 delegates drawn from international and national oil companies ,petroleum firms ,government representatives and gene-science institutions expected to flock the Mombasa’s Sarova White sands Beach resort.

The significance of the importance of the conference is that President Mwai Kibaki is expected to officially open the function on Wednesday, according to a report appearing in the today’s edition of the DAILY NATION.

Even as the five East African countries jointly promote and market the sector to potential petroleum industry investors their government must demonstrate more interest in the largely under explored industry.

“ The onshore and offshore sedimentary basins of the xxx have similar geology with huge potential for untapped oil and gas accumulation this potential needs to be fully evaluated through efforts of all stakeholders v”, according to Kenya , Energy Minister Kiraitu Murungi

Among the critical aspects up for debate are natural gas development petroleum revenue management east Africa rift basin system and onshore and offshore opportunities regionally.

Policy issues like the existing legal framework and fiscal regions and govern regional petroleum operations will also be discussed at the conference.

The E A region has high potential for hydro-carbon as indicated by recent oil and gas discovery in Tanzania and Uganda respectively “says the conference final circular.”

In Kenya the oil and gas exploration is active both onshore and offshore with the government having signed production sharing contracts with internationally oil companies for 19 out of the country’s 38 acreage blocks.

Rwandan prospects are notable given the county’s estimates that methane gas potential at Lake Kivu is equivalent to 40 million tones of oil and can generate energy for a 700 megawatts from plant running rate of a billion cubic meters of methane per year
If fully exploited Rwanda has the potential to export energy to other African states already Burundi has began exploration on Lake Tanganyika basins.

REGIONAL ENERGY EXPERTS TO HOLD THREE DAYS CONFERENCE ON OIL AND GAS EXPLORATION IN MOMBASA THIS WEEK

Re: Ever failed in anything?

Have you ever failed in anything? Such as what?

-Examination/quiz
-Work related interview
-Getting a visa/scholarship
-Marriage/relationship
-Diver’s license
-Christian life
-Business

If not, then you have no idea what life is all about and indeed need that kind of experience! What’s are you talking about? Allow me to explain.

You see,I have serious problem with people who tend to think that life is all about passing or success! When such people are finally confronted with the reality of life, they just break down or do something silly to hurt themselves and others! Let me give you several examples.

-I heard a story over the radio of this girl who wanted to commit suicide for getting a B grade instead of all A’s. When interviewed, she said that she ward so smart for any kind of grade other than straight A
-Ever noted that usually A students have some issues in life?
-I know of this lady who divorced because her husband became a pagan by
eating meat.
-There are those who are so much consumed by the perfection disease that they find it extremely hard to communicate with sinners who do not measure up with their high moral standards
-There are people who are so serious about Christianity that they consider any sense of humor as sin!
-People who have not failed at any time in their life time , have hard time dealing with failures. They just can’t understand why some people are not smart like them

I am not saying that we should plan to fail or go looking for it.
What I am saying, though, is that as long as we are in this world, we need certain experiences in life to help us wake up or change course.

By the way, do you know that our God at times allows failure to come our way so as to teach us?

So, any time failure comes your way, thank God for it, pick yourself up, learn something from it and move on! Will you?

Just a thought.

EAST AFRICA COMMUNITY MEMBER STATES TRADE WITH THE US UNDER AGOA STAGNATED THOUGH THE OPPORTUNITY FOR IMPROVIN IS THERE

Business Report By Leo Odera Omolo

East African Community(EAC) Member States earned about USD 470 million from exports to the united states last year, continuing stagnation that has seen twisfigures hover around USD 0.5 trillion mark for last for the past three year.
Figure released by the limited states International Trade Commission(USITC) in February shown an improvement in earning from export to us by each of the EAC Countries
EAC member are Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi.
Despite the growth in earnings statistics indicate the region failed to take advantage of the vast opportunities offered under the Africa growth and opportunity offered under the Africa Growth and Opportunity Act{Agoa}.
Agoa was launched by the US government in 2001 to enable Sub-Saharan African countries to get duty free and quote- free access to the USD 11 trillion American market . By last year 41 countries were benefiting from the initiatives.
However, with the economic crisis having hit the US and several countries across the globe, analysis now warn that earnings from exports to the US under Agoa are likely to shrink.

according to statistics recently published by UCITC the five countries increased their combined the five countries increased their combined earnings to USD 446.6 million from USD 412.6 million in2007 in 2006 in the complained total earnings for the five countries were USD 419.5.
Kenya East Africa buoyant economy once again ruled the rest in 2006 with a total annual export of USD 326 million in 2007. This however lower compared to 2006 earnings that hit USD 352.8 MILLION.
Kenya is due to host the 8th annual Agoa meeting this year. The meeting will bring together senior government officials and private sector executives from the US and Agoa eligible African countries.
Tanzania once again come distant second with its export earning USD 5.6 million a 16 per cent increase from 2007 Us 46.2 million.
Despite coming third, Uganda recorded the most improved performance of the five countries. Its earnings increased by over 100 per cent from USD 12.6 million in 2007 to USD 13.7 million in 2008.
In 2001 Rwanda exported goods to the US totally USD 8.9 Million.
But the of the indication of how the East African countries have failed to make the most of opportunities available under Agoa is the fact that the region countries combined performance was once again bettered by close to 20 per cent of the 41 countries aligible to benefit from Agoa.
Nigeria was once again the leading beneficiary across the leading beneficiary earning USD 38.2 million..
