On Wednesday December 24th 2008 at 10am, we will be presenting some 250 orphans and vulnerable children with Text Books, Exercise Books, Uniforms and Shoes for their schooling in the New Year at our offices in Komarock.
These children are drawn from 7 schools within Embakasi Division and are from across Kenya and we intend this presentation to lift up their spirits as they enjoy their Christmas looking ahead to the New Year.
To make this event a success, we are inviting your support. This support can be channeled through Komarocks Community Development Network, Text Book Centre Ltd and/or Uniform Distributors Ltd. If you are willing to be our partner in this, kindly get in touch with the undersigned. We will accept your support with thanks.
The idea was born out of the ravages of conflict that we witnessed at the beginning of the year when we saw men at war and the repercussion it had on children. We witnessed first hand how vulnerable children were affected at such times and it made us at KCDN to pitch a case for them.
In inviting your support, we are also willing to receive used items that are still in good conditions that we can help give out to those in dire need.
Your support will make one child have access to an education which s/he would otherwise have missed out on. In the new spirit of National Healing and Reconciliation, let us share the little we have with the children who have nothing at all.
At the end of it all, we will publicly acknowledge all the support that we received.
Your support could be their best hope.
Yours faithfully,
