Kenya: Fwd: Resign or be forced out, MPs tell TJRC boss

Folks,

This is a very sad state of affairs for people like Bethwel Kiplagat. He should have known it is impossible to fight forces of the masses when change is right.

They say Old is Gold, but for Amb. Bethwel Kiplagat and former President Moi, they don’t get it.

We will Pray for those people, so they dont get heart attacks when the day finally setsi n. We want them around for a little while.

Resign or be forced out, MPs tell TJRC boss

By Roselyne Obala

A parliamentary team will urge Truth Justice and Reconciliation Commission Chairman Ambassador Bethuel Kiplagat to step down this week.

Ikolomani MP Bony Khalwale said the Parliamentary Select Committee on Administration of Justice and Legal Affairs would ask Kiplagat and his commissioners to resign or face dissolution.

“Kenyans have rejected Kiplagat and as MPs we have said enough is enough,” he added.

He said Kenyans have rejected Kiplagat as the TJRC chairman because many of the atrocities to be investigated by the team were committed while he served in the concerned Government offices.

The Honourable thing

Speaking in his constituency, Dr Khalwale said Kiplagat should read the public mood and do the honourable thing – resignation.

Justice Minister Mutula Kilonzo wrote to the chairman of the parliamentary group, Mandera Central MP Abdikadir Mohamed, requesting him to start the process of disbanding the commission.

And Gichugu MP Martha Karua said disbanding the entire commission would be the ideal thing to do.
