Dearl all,

It is with profound sorrow, sadness and regret that I inform you of the death of our dear sister Lydia Abincha. Lydia succumbed to her long and painful battle with cancer today June 1, 2008. Please keep Lydia’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

Please visit Lydia’s caring bridge site (http://www.caringbr idge.org/ visit/lydia_ abincha) for more information about Lydia’s journey with breast cancer.

Sincerely,

Gerald Keraro.

Brother Keraro,

I have received the news of sister Lydia’s dead with great sorrow. Yes, I knew that Lydia was ill but I never knew that she would pass away that soon.

On learning of sister Lydia’s sickness, I took upon myself to call and talk with her so often. .I even sent her several emails encouraging her to hold on to her faith. Sickness, and now, the passing away ,came to Lydia too soon. She was such a wonderful person. There is no question that Lydia will be greatly missed.

To all the family members and friends of sister Lydia, Maranatha SDA church in Hopkins, Minnesota, my family and I, say pole sana. Please know that our hearts and prayers are with you. It’s a question of time before we go home. Until then, let us remain faithful.

A.C. Clark, Author, passes away at age 90

I recommend to you the above link.

I would like to express my appreciation for the written works of Arthur C. Clark.  He has been a prolific author of science, spaceflight, and science fiction items.  In SF, he is surely among the greats, which includes / included, among others, Isaac Asimov, Robert Heinlein, and more.

Concepts he published lead toward com-sats, which are such an important fixture in our present society.  I am glad to hear he was honored for this with the Nobel Peace Prize.

Richard Hogland has pointed out the remarkable coincidence between Clark’s fictional descriptions of a certain outer planet’s moon, in comparison to observation in this decade by the Cassini space probe.  The body is Iaptis, satellite of Saturn, a ‘Moon with A View’.  (Look for that article on www.enterprisemission.com).

One of ‘Clark’s Laws’ states:
“A sufficiently advanced technology may to its less advanced observers, be indistinguishable from magic.”

His writings are in fact a magic which can continue to be appreciated in the years still to come.

Appreciation from the Family of the Late Beatrice Omoro

Desmond Aryertey, Caroline Omoro, John Akumu and other members of the family of the late Beatrice Omoro wish to sincerely thank you for your warm expressions of sympathy, support and compassion on the recent loss of our beloved Beatrice.

Your presence, moral support and visitation during the hours of need meant a lot to us and to our families. Your help gave us the needed comfort and consoled our hearts. We feel blessed
to have such loving and caring friends and we will think of your kindness with appreciation for a long time to come. The family continues to find healing in God’s tender embrace, and in knowing that others remembered and cared.

Thank you all and may God bless you.

Desmond, Caroline, John

Thank you for the great support from Peter & Anne Osano

Dear esteemed Brothers and Sisters,

It is coming late, but you deserve to hear this from us. When the information of our father going to be with the Lord was sent out, we had overwhelming support from you. It made it possible for my wife and I to go home, meet all that was before us and go back to the US. We left Kenya the midnight (27/12/2007) when the counting of votes had started in some constituencies.

We are truly thankful to the Lord who gave you to us.

May the Lord bless you all.

At the fund raising for our departed sister Beatrice Omoro, I played a CD and many people liked it. I promised to avail the contacts from where the CD can be purchased.

Here they are:

1. I am going to make arrangements to have some CDs sent to me, so you can get them from Gaithersburg. (osanopo@yahoo.com)

2. Give the website where they can be purchased directly through the internet.

The website is: lilian@lilianodera.com

May the Lord shower you with His blessings.

We love you all

Rev. Peter & Rev. Dr. Anne Osano

Death Announcement

From the Nyamwange family (Illinois), please accept our deep and heartfelt sorrow on the passing of a great man.  His influence has reached far and near.  May the words of Jesus comfort you at such a time as this.  “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25,26)
