OPEN LETTER TO HON. RAILA ODINGA AND ODM

ATTN: Hon. Raila Odinga,

First I must admit that after a log time I couldn’t hold back a tear. A tear for my Kenya sisters and brothers o the collapse of the Koffi  Annan led peace mediation and settlement.

I write to you this with an open heart and conscience at this crucial moment in our country’s history. Being a staunch supporter of ODM and as a youth, I choose to send you this letter as a patriotic and innocent Kenya.

I strongly believe that I also represent the feeling of majority ad like-minded Kenyans who year to have real PEACE and UNITY. We shall  never give up o our country, Kenya. I certainly believe that majority  of Kenyans heartily take you as their preferred Prime Minister and President due to the fact that all our hopes are on you.

As a youth among many others, I see no future without your personal  sacrifice for the sake of our motherland, Kenya. As I continue to miss the company of my longtime neighbors and the same breath that we all  shared, I take you to be the only savior that Kenya yearns to have now than ever before. Hard-liners and spoilers would always be amongst us. For your party ODM, the most important hope and guarantee to the  political and constitutional normalcy against your opponents, as  Kenyans, lies with you ad your team engaging PNU/ODM-K with reason and  national tact in Parliament for the sake of amending and putting the wrong constitutional and political structures into place and order for the coming general elections (2012) and the future, that is all ours.

Recently, you challenged (Hon.Kalonzo Musyoka) and all of us who got abreast of your detail on how Judas betrayed Jesus.

Would you, Hon. Raila Odinga as chair of ODM and for the sake of the innocent children, voters that religiously voted for you and those who  also never did vote for your party, strongly brave the ‘Jesus-like’ persecutions that you are politically and constitutionally facing together with other Kenyans?

Shouldn’t the Koffi Annan-led mediation process be an impacting historical lesson for Kenyan than to have it leave a dirty stain and scare on our soil?

Did the talks collapse when politicians chose the wrong means, mode and maneuver to solve the post-election crisis? Did our leaders use legal  means to manipulatively settle a political issue or was the matter an electoral one to be settled constitutionally and vice versa? Or was it  pre-meditated to collapse and make things difficult for Kenya by a few?

Hon. Raila, kindly permit me, on behalf of like minded Kenyans to break  into this political pre-occupation that would, if not clinically  observed, break Kenya into pieces.

Are we as political carpenters transforming our country to nothingness?

Sir, world over, it is perceived that trees have more significance than fallen ones or logs.

From leaves that help purify air to the beauty and color of leaves and  flowers to providing homes to birds our political society has chosen to cut us down only to lose the being and beauty of being Kenyan. The crisis is likely to ‘convert’ more trees for coffins than transforms them into tables, cooking sticks, beds for our mundane use.

Ordinary wananchi and politicians, like trees have become victims of  oppressive mechanical forces from the opposing side. From politics that  make or break to tribal set-ups that rule and dismantle ethnic beauties  and families, I’m then forced to break into the residence of you immediate person, as Hon. Raila Odinga.

We all understand the  challenging tasks that you have indeed gone through. But my only wish is that you remain in our minds and hearts for a longer time to come as  the savior of this political crisis.

Out in the streets I find no spices of life during mass civil disobedience and the seasoning of our already anxious and weak bodies with more teargas and bullets  riddling us without fault. Our unsettled and disturbed lives off our homes in refugee centers remains our challenge though the principle ethics for ODM lies with taking care of the poor, less privileged and marginalised societies by a few selfish individuals.

I have a strong conviction that you would choose to be the gateway to our PEACE, LOVE AND UNITY and live together as Kenyans for you understand we your  ardent supporters and voters better. Kindly and urgently help bring out the brighter side of Kenya to the world through self-sacrifice.

Without entering the residence of PNU’s/ODM-K’s bundle of political, constitutional slander and selfish legal contradictions I what Dr. Koffi Annan and his team yearned Kenya to go through for the sake of our unity. And that is ‘sacrificial political diplomacy’ instead of backtracking around the inverse circles of manipulative engagements that take us aback.

Personally, I shall forgive but not forget the already dismantled collateral singularity brought forth by PNU and its affiliate parties. I also choose not to reverse the intention of my hope that I have for you, Hon. Raila for a better  Kenya. May be PNU added color to our electoral process but they were unable to bring I flavor and taste of our already developing democracy. Their choice of electoral transmission proved faulty I the eyes of the world.

In fact PNU, the Electoral Commission of Kenya (ECK), the AG and Judiciary reduced our already established Constitution as guiding laws to a ‘catalogue of negotiating for elite political and ill  gotten power’. A political prescription that serves a few and that which would taste the challenges of time and the world.

Hon. Raila, I urge you on behalf of Kenyans to refuse to take the ‘dirty’  political crisis as dosage for political supremacy. This would only worsen the ‘ political, electoral, constitutional and legal, cough that we all have contracted from our opponents.

On our soul you still remain what we yearned to have for Kenya-our President. May the good Lord guide you as you contemplate about the innocent children, suffering mothers, the youth ad the entire nation.

Our hearts are bleeding.

Certainly, when I think about this experience;-I see a political ‘Jesus’ in you.

Sincere Regards,
Mundia Mundia Jnr.

The Kenya We Want (Debate)

Date: Tue, 26 Feb 2008 07:53:36
Re: Vs. The Kenya We Want

Charles,

I do understand your point. But please just listen for a second. Kenya has been building democracy, and that is what have given even the voters hope of going in abundance to the voting box last year to express their views and mind. But what have they got, just a middle finger.

Mark me well I am not now talking about Kibaki or Raila. What I am saying is this: the president can come from any party since presidents are being elected by all voters. But the party which should form a government in any democratic state is the party with the majority of MPs in the parliament. Because it is the party expressing majority of voters. All over the world any government or state claimimg or actually understanding what democracy means, do things like that, that is what is called democracy. People should not keep on shouting this word called DEMOCRACY without knowing or understanding what it means. And even up to now I do not know where CHIEF JUSTICE WAKO is? WHERE ARE THE COURTS HE USED TO SHOUT FOR US TO GO TO? WHY CAN HE NOW TELL KIBAKI TO GO TO COURT IF HE KIBAKI AND PNU WANTS TO FORM THE GOVERNMENT AND THEY ARE NOT THE MAJORITY IN PARLIAMENT? Law should be followed and Kibaki plus PNU have broken the laws more than thieves or murderers in our Kenyan prisons today. Why should they be allowed to go free and spend tax payers’ money?

These people have been in the government now for over 5 years and claiming that they have developed Kenya to a good direction, while when they are sick or any member of their family is sick they fly them to be treated in England, Germany, USA, etc., while the common man can not even get a malaria tablet in a dispensary in Kenya. Don`t you see how they shake when Europeans or USA tells them that they will not get visas to Europe or USA? Why are they shaking? It is because all the money they have been stealing is invested in Europe or USA. These people are not investing all the tax payers money that they steal in Kenya. In fact, they are not patriotic at all, they are just some thieves, gangs, or robbers stealing Kenyan’s wealth. Who are these people? And should even Kikuyus support Kibaki, Karua, and Saitoti when Kikuyus are refugees in Uganda or living in tents in Kenya?

A president can be any Kenyan whom Kenyans want, and a goverment should be formed by a party with majority of MPs. If there is no majority party, then alliances are formed after the election. But on 27th. Dec. 2008, the Majority of Kenyans gave ODM party the mandate to rule and form a government and the so-called chief justice is not even talking about this. Why is he now silent. Things can be solved in a lot of ways. The most important point is to get to the goal, but I am afraid we Kenyans are getting nowhere this time.

Subject: Re: The Kenya We Want

Nkuraya,

Kenya can have both president and a prime minister if the constitution is amended and they both follow the same law and same policy. What is happening in Kenya today is; there is no set law and non of our leaders follow the law. For example police should NOT tell any body that he/she is following orders from above. Nobody should order police to perform an illegal act on his/her favor. There has to be a stipulated law that is followed regardless of who is involved. I was in Kenya in 2006, there were no hawkers in Nairobi.  Go to Nairobi today. Hawkers are all over because Kibaki allowed them to come back during elections, are we going back wards or forward? Meanwhile, the shop owners are expected to pay tax and vat while somebody who is not paying taxes is selling their goods in front of the shops!!!

You cannot compare Al Gore and George Bush saga with the Kenyan one. Bush had to wait for supreme court to declare him the winner after which he was sworn in. Kibaki was sworn in even before Kivuitu announced the winner. Chief justice who is the custodian of Kenyan law already took sides by circumventing the law by swearing in Kibaki. Look what Uhuru did with councilors nominations by nominating more councilors than what he is allowed to nominate, is this the Kenya that we really want? Kenya is heading in to a big hole and it will take a long time to come out of that hole.

Subject: Re: Vs The Kenya We Want

Paul, I understand what you are saying. What I am trying to look is 20 years from now when there will be no Kibakis and no Railas. When we will have healed our wounds and the controversial election is long gone. Then the question arises do we want Kenya which moves in one direction with one leader one voice or Kenya which have many leaders many voices and therefore divided?

Paul, politicians being what they are they will never have the same view on anything.  Now imagine we have a President and a Prime Minister. The President is a Teso and the Prime Minister is a Oromo.  The President have a certain view and a certain policy at the same time the Prime Minister has different views and different policies. Now the Teso people decide to support the President and views and policies while the Oromo people decide to support the Prime Minister with his views and policies. Of course there would be violence. This violence would be so serious since the government will be split into two. The security forces would be split into two. It would be an internal war.

So, basically we would have a good election but still have total war within the government. You have to bear in mind the fact that Kenya has stayed stable and united for this long not because we had angels as leaders before but because we had one government, one leader one voice whether it was Moi or Kenyatta.

Another good example was US in 2000 when Al Gore emerged with more votes than Bush but fewer electoral college votes.  Nobody came forward and said for the sake of stability and nation reputation let share power. Let Al Gore be Prime Minister and Bush the President so that it can be a win win situation.  I think we ought to look at that and borrow a leaf from one of the oldest democracies we have.

Paul, remember the adage many cooks spoil the food.  I rest my case.

Subject: Re: Vs The Kenya We Want

Charles what are you talking about?

A term for the president, even if he is a nightmare president, you want him to go on until his term is over or what? Any Kenyan doing poorly on any job is kicked out before his agreement time is finished whether he likes it or not. President Moi also did it for 24 years and he could have still do it if he was Kibaki, so do not cheat people. Again, all you have mentioned from no. 2 to 7 are directly or indirectly connected with the president you have already given the time he can steal people’s money until his time ends and after that you still can do nothing to him. Charles, do not think this forum is full with stupid people. This same Kibaki has given alot of things to the Chinese. We thought that when he was neglecting the west, we were going somewhere where we Kenyans can decide our future ourselves, we never knew he was just switching us from one master to another.

Kibaki and his party PNU have only 43 Mps, while ODM has 101.  So who should be the opposition according to you?

Please, if you do not want to build a better Kenya, just keep silent. You will soon see American army men patrollling streets of Nyeri and that is when you will realise that things are not that simple as you think.

Paul Nyandoto.

Subject: The Kenya We Want

The changes we need for a stable Kenya not only for the present but also for the future are few which are important:

1. A term limit for the Presidency(we already have that)
2. An independent electoral commission.
3. An independent Judiciary system.
4.  An independent parliament.
5.  A land Commission with implementation power.
6. A tribal clashes commission with power to punish.
7. Vetting of senior government position by parliament.

What we don’t need:

1. Power sharing ( what is the purpose of an election)
2. Prime Minister (a   position to divide people and waste money with little benefit to the common man)
3. A coalition government(what is democracy without  opposition)

All the above can be achieved by constitution amendments or by agreement by all stake holders.

Charles Nkuraya

Primary Issue Should Never be Relegated

While it is healthy to argue what is best for Kenya and What ideal leaders ought to offer for Kenya, it is imperative that as a democracy we must not forget or push from the limelight the significant issues that brought the whole impasse in Kenya which facilitated all these deaths and created all the IDPs.
ECK failed the Kenya People in the last elections by declaring Mwai Kibaki as winner for the Presidency while Kibaki had lost to Raila Odinga. This is ultimate abuse of any democratic ideals any country can tolerate. As a Kenyan I want that error to be corrected for justice to be seen to be done. ECK ought to have nullified the results and ordered for fresh elections to avoid the violence and brutal killings by police that followed. I would like to see Kibaki, PNU and Kalonzo Musyoka to respect the outcome of the elections and give the Preseidency back to the party (ODM) which won the seat comfortably before the infamous blackout. Secondly, it would be important to disband ECK and indict the commissioners, the CJ, AG, and all the Senior Government Officials who took part in the illegal swearing-in ceremony at State House period. All other mediations on who gets what in the government should never be allowed to take centre stage. Kibaki lost the elections
and he should vacate State House immediately. There is no need to hold Kenya at ransom and expect that things will change by some miracle.

Constitution Debate (Round 2): LET KENYANS REVERT TO INDEPENDENCE (1963) CONSTITUTION

KOLers,

Taking the cue from the lamentations of Mw Edari as to how Kenyatta and Co messed up with Kenya’s constitution to serve personal ends, I  searched for, located and have read Kenya’s Indpendence (1963) Constitution, and I recommend that you too read it!

I find that it has all that Kenyans wanted (even at the Bomas Constitutional Review Conference) in a pro-people constitution.

Why then do we need to ‘reinvent the wheel’?

Some of us were not yet born when Kenyans held protracted negotiations over this document, which was finally agreed unanimously, paving the way for Independence.

It was subsequently adulterated at whim by the first president of Kenya to suit his, dare I say, PERSONAL interests!

Recognising the people’s need for an accountable and responsive governance within an accountable and democratic institutional framework, the Independence constitution provided for the following:

1. Bicameral parliament (Senate and House of Reps);

2. Regional Assemblies (1 in every province);

3. Executive PM as Head of Government, appointed by Parliament and answerable to the Kenyan people on a daily basis through parliament;

4. Ceremonial president as head of state (like Israel; Germany; Italy; etc);

5. District Education Boards;

6. District Medical Boards;

7. District Agricultural Boards;

8. 100% empowered and locally accountable local authorities/local government (County Councils, etc).

Aren’t these the stuff Kenyans are looking for in the new constitutional dispensation as attested by the views at BOMAS and throughout the country?

Why then do we need to go so far to give ourselves a brand-new constitution when all we can do is CALL the very same Parliament that has interfered with the contents of the FIRST CONSTITION to sit down and ANNUL / REPEAL all such previous alterations/amendments so as to let Kenyans REVERT to the very same document we had on DAY ONE of our Independence?

No more referendums, no more wastage of money, and we get back what we already agreed unanimously to guide our national collective?

As I said before, let Martha Karua and her PNU thieves not tell us about ‘constitutionality’ when Kibaki and her likes have failed to deliver a contitution responsive to the needs of Kenyans!
For, deeply burried in the very same current constitution, is the document that we all need: … all that we have to do is FAST-REWIND to the document before any change was made to it, and BINGO – we are home and dry!

Here is the document for all of you to download, digest and promote!

http://www.4cskenyatuitakayo.org/downloads/1963Constitution.pdf

It is the kind of constitution Martha Karua would demand to have in place were Raila to be the Executive President and Head of State under the current constitution! That is how good the document is, and certainly a very long way from “the Kilifi Draft”; “The Wako Draft”, or the “Naivasha Consensus”, whatever!

HOW DO YOU DISAGREE?

Blessings.

Amherst Profiles Edwin Macharia

For the Fall edition of the Amherst Magazine, I was profiled in the cover story. Attached is the full article, which can also be found online:
https://cms.amherst.edu/news/magazine/issues/2007_fall.

Entitled “The Dirtiest Game” by Elizabeth Shelburne, the story gives a well rounded view of the period leading up to the election as well as set the broader context of why I chose to run for MP.

As quick background for those not familiar with it, Amherst College http://www.amherst.edu/) is the top ranked college in the US. Founded in 1821, I was priviledged to be the 5th Kenyan to ever attend the school. I am, therefore, incredibly honored to be the subject of the magazine’s main feature, given Amherst has a very distinguished alumni body of over 20,000 individuals which includes nobel prize winners, presidents, leading scientists, economists, teachers, global and local leaders.

Enjoy the story and in the words of the Amherst motto “Terras Irradient” (“Let them give light to the world”), may we all give our individual light to the world.

Edwin

Joblessness in Kisumu Following Post-Election Violence

Mon, 25 Feb 2008 00:07:48
by Jeff Otieno, Freelance Journalist

KISUMU - Faces of desperation and despair is the hallmark of Kenyas third largest lake side city of Kisumu following the bloody post election violence early this year.

In a desperate bid to express their bitterness, the protesters allied to an opposition party seemed to have over stretched their limits  by torching and looting with glee private properties like shops and supermarkets in full glare of the police who did little to counter them for reasons which aren’t clear to date.

The looting spree was that shocking due to the fact that even well known couples in the locality were filmed carrying loots.

In some slum areas in town, I managed to come across several mud thatched tiny houses which could not accommodate loots like Refrigerators, Tv sets and modern music systems and they had to be pegged via the entrance nicely covered by polythene bags to protect them from the rains and the scorching sun.

Surprisingly, the local authorities (the Police) have decided not to device mechanisms of retrieving them or to even take the necessary action against these known blunderers in order to curb what now seems like a precedent.

“Since I was born I have never encountered such a barbaric scenario,” quipped Mr.Raju Patel a local employer who lost  goods worth millions of dollars.

“ In total I had over 50 workers 10 drivers not included but now I cant guarantee their fate,”Raju wondered.

Latest survey by a local non governmental organization (N.G.O) puts the job losers to be around a staggering figures of 20,000 and hopes of restoring confident to the investors is still pegged on the mediation talks whose verdict is yet to come.

Most of the workers who lost their jobs in the said affected areas could be seen in clusters along the streets pondering in low tones about their future.

It will require a sustained massive crusade among the stake holders to restore the confidence of investors if the town is to be reconstructed and restored back to its lost glory.

As a result of the drastic job losses state of insecurity has gripped the city and its environs but the newly posted police boss in a recent interview with the press expressed optimism that the situation will soon be calm.

“I’ve put measures which will guarantee maximum security for the residents in the city and to the entire province,” vowed Mr.Antony Kibuchi.

“I equally need the support of all the stake holders like opinion leaders, members of the business community if we’re to achieve our desired goals”, Kibuchi concluded.

Dear Jeff,

We wondered what you meant by “in full glare of the police who did little to counter them for reasons which aren’t clear to date.”  This strikes us as a revisionist historian account.  Furthermore, we believe that your account is insensitive to those who died at the hands of Grace Kaindi’s police force in Kisumu as well as to their friends and family members.  That the police in Kisumu committed egregious and inhumane acts of brutality is beyond refute.  It is also worth noting that some of the victims of this brutality were not even protesters…

More on police brutality in Kenya following what even independent (non-Kibaki appointed) observers and US elected officials say was a stolen election…

 EXCERPT:

More than 600 people have died in Kenya, long east Africa’s most stable and promising economy, during protests in the past three weeks against President Mwai Kibaki’s disputed re-election. Many have died at the hands of the security forces.

Jaluo.com often expresses criticism of journalism that we think fails the honesty test.  We hope that those we criticize will adhere to higher standards in the future.  We have a sincere appreciation of investigative journalism and hope that those who aspire to this line of work will also meet its very rigorous standards.  We believe that journalism should, first and foremost, serve the truth.  In this case, the issue of truth is especially important as human rights groups and the international community must begin to hold those responsible for all acts of violence INCLUDING GRACE KAINDI AND HER POLICE FORCE to account.

Please clarify your position regarding what has been characterized by numerous human rights organizations as police brutality in Kisumu.  Otherwise, we will consider this an opinion piece lacking in substantiated allegations and not an article.

We would also like to add that we have reports from other sources that Kisumu is “rising” again. This was sent by Robert…

For the First Time: A PNU Proposal to Move Kenya Forward

I am amazed. For the first time PNU and their commentator have an outstanding proposal to move Kenyans forward. GOOD JOB Mr. Kibaki. The test is “Can you stand to it?”

This is an extract from yesterdays Standard:

Kibaki said that despite the challenges the country has faced recently, the broader Kenyan leadership should have the capacity and the will to arrive at a political settlement, which galvanizes the citizenry.

Should the deal be reached, it would herald a new Kenya, where Parliament, and not the President, as is the case now, will create ministries and assign them functions.

That could mean death to or even expansion of some of the existing ministries and creation of new ones.

This was ODM’s answer coming from their school of thought:

The Orange Democratic Movement wants all the issues agreed turned into law through a constitutional amendment.

ODM’s position was that gentlemen’s agreements like the Inter-Parties Parliamentary Group Package of 1997 and the Memorandum of Understanding of 2002, have failed to work because they had no legal force.

Therefore, Mr. Kibaki we will keep you in check, so that you don’t take Kenyans for a ride.

Thanks!

Borrowing a Leaf

In 2002 the Hon.Musalia Mudavadi lost his parliamentary seat, being the then vice president, KANU quickly nominated him to parliament.  He called a press conference in his sabatia constituency and duly informed the sabatia electorate that he respected their decision not to send him to parliament.  He then turned down KANUs nomination, stating that he wont go to parliament “by force”. If his people wanted him at home,  then he was ready to do just that – he thus stayed at home. Having been voted out Hon. Julia Ojiambo is now in court, she seeks to get to bunge with or without the backing of Funyula voters.   Anything she can learn from her brother Musalia? I wish Musikari Kombo could also borrow a leaf from Mudavadi and decline the nomination he just recieved. The ball is now in their court.

CATHOLIC HIERARCHY BEING CHEATED

NTV VIDEO COMMENTARY BLOG

Only Pro Nuncio Lebaupin can save Kenya. The Catholic Church has to withdraw its support (in public) for this extremely hidden devil pretending to be a devout Catholic (with a second hidden wife Wambui in Lavington – right next to the Catholic Strathmore University!). Even Njue tommorrow would become a bald bell playing Hare Krishna if that would enable certain Kikuyus to ‘eat’ the Rift Valley. These devils are ‘pretend’ Catholics, only the Pope is sleeping.

Weighing options!

Do you know a place where I can purchase a good working vacuum cleaner?

Much as I like vacuum cleaners and do appreciate them for making my cleaning work easier over the years, I must confess that they have not been nice to me? Why do I say that?

You see I have yet to find a good working vacuum cleaner. Every time I dump the old one for a new one, it has ended giving me almost the same problems if not worse. They always start good but only for a short period of time. My family has not only seen several of them, but also heard all kinds of praises for each one of them.

One very important lesson that I have learned from all the vacuum cleaners that I have had is this: “Think twice before you thumb that which you consider trash.” Here is one other example. When we first migrated to this great nation, we bought an old car for  $250.00. This car served us faithfully for three years despite the fact that we complained about it all the time. When money came by,we dumped it and bought a good station wagoner Subaru for $ 5,000.00. That Subaru turned out to be a real nightmare. Even as I write several years later, I can feel the pain of all that we went through. Hence the reason I need to make the following appeal:

There is every need to weigh your options before you make any move in almost everything in life. I will mention a few examples:

1. Are you tired of your old TV, car, computer, vacuum cleaner, or bicycle? Think twice before you dump it!

2. Are you tired of your major at college and feel like changing to another one? Find more about the other program before you move.

3. Are you tired of your career and want to move to something else? Get all the information on the other career before you change.

4. Are you tired living with your parents and want to be on your own? Life is tougher than you think. Not all that glitters is gold. If I were you, I would do everything possible to  hang around for some time with my folks.

5. Are you tired of your spouse and feel like life without him/her will be roses? How come you have forgoten so soon that you promised that”… until death do us part?” You and I will do well to “hold fast that which we have lest someone comes and takes it.” You and I will also do well to remember that that which we consider trash will be “someone’s gold.” Do you think that there are good ones out there? Is that not what you thought when you married your sweet heart? Would it be possible that you and I have spent a lot of time trying to change our spouses instead of changing ourselves?

Well, the bottom line is that before we make any move if life, let us weigh our options. Did I say with much prayer? Shall we?

Just a thought

Misplaced anger!

From time to time,we find ourselves angry with objects that are doing their work or people who have not done anything to us. Take a look at the following:

1. Many set an alarm on their clocks to help them wake up but end up knocking them real hard or even become so angry with them for making noise to them. And, of course, the big question is, why did you buy it?

2. There are some parents with little children who become so angry with their little ones for doing that which children are supposed to do.

3. Some people just don’t like the cops! Come to think about it, these individuals are there to protect us! If you and I keep the law, then our attitude towards them will change.

4. Some people go to church to listen to the word of God but come out annoyed because they feel that the sermon was all about them.

5. There are some people who really gets angry with such things like the computer, cars, and many others, things that can not defend themselves.

6. There are some people who are angry with people they have never met or seen. All their reaction is based on that which they have heard from their family members and friends.

7. But, perhaps the strangest one of all, is of people who are angry, and I mean very angry, with God. They blame God for everything that happens. There have been some cases where some people have even taken God to court. Well, God have mercy!

My appeal to you and I is that before we become angry, let us take a few minutes to honestly ask ourselves whether or not our anger towards a certain object, fellow human being or God is justified. Shall we?

Just a thought.

PNU IS DEVIOUS

BEN:

According to International Crisis Group 35 page report entitled Kenya In Crisis (Africa Report No. 137), soon after Kibaki was “hurriedly sworn in at State House”, he was “flown to a coastal military facility” and “the internal security minister suspended all media broadcasts”(p8). In simple terms the military was part of the rigging process. This is quite probable given the fact that Kibaki promoted Kikuyus to senior positions in the army soon after winning 2002 election.

My own view of the election rigging reveals elaborate plan that was oblivious of the repercussions.

PNU is now a step ahead of ODM. It is are preparing to sabotage mayoral elections by nominating PNU moles in ODM and supporting them for key positions in the councils. We are at war with PNU and no matter what mediation comes up with, PNU is out for an overkill. They are now buying time for the next assault and  have now had enough time for another battle.

PNU is modern day colonial power. It has to be fought and defeated. It is faithless and untrustworthy unlike ODM. PNU is simply positioning itself to obliterate ODM and incarcerate its leaders. Kibor is victim number one. By arresting Kibor, PNU is testing waters and depending on our reactions we are soon witnessing mass arrests and fabricated judges that will be characterized by false witnesses prepared by the state. The idea is to destroy ODM and its leadership before 2012.

Brace yourself for more from PNU!

I could not agree more! However, the name should not be “East Africa Republic”. Instead, we can call it, ” Western Kenya” or some other appropriate name. It is hard to imagine that kifaki and traitor Kalonzo will voluntarily leave State Hse before 2012. Thief Saitoti will use maximum force to torture ODM MPs and its supporters.  Why has the army kept so quiet as if they are not part of Kenyans? Why can all army officers from ODM strongholds resign in mass numbers and paralyze the government? Next week is the last week for meaningful talks. Thereafter it will be unpredictable. I think the US and other Western Countries will support ODM’s declaration of independence.

This PNU people are playing around.  ODM should just take the BOMAS draft and declare it as the new constitution for the East Africa Republic comprising the the following provinces, Rift Valley, Coast, North Eastern, Western, Nyanza and half of Nairobi.

The capital city of the Republic of East Africa will be temporarily in Eldoret, where there is already a State House, an international airport and military barracks. The issue of the permanent capital city will be ratified at a later date.

We better leave PNU  people in peace,  because the rate they are provoking their fellow countrymen, the will soon be in pieces.

So future residents of the Republic of East Africa, let us take a bold step and unitedly declare Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga as the First President of the East Africa Republic. The East Africa Republic shall be governed according to the Bomas Constitution of 2005, without reference to the landmass and people of Central and Eastern Provinces.

Major General Kagame and President Bush set up strategy military action on Kenya

US President George W. Bush (R) whispered to the President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame as they walked to the motorcade on his arrival at Kigali International Airport in Rwanda on February 19. Bush was on his third day of Africa tour that took him to Benin, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ghana and Liberia. His tour focused on development, fighting HIV/AIDS and malaria.

Military projection on Kenya is at hand! Strategy and logistics are in force!
The battle to save the Great Lake region from collapsing under the corrupt Mt Kenya Mafia’s illegitimate Kibaki government rule, is taking a new twist and Kofi Annan will soon call it quits as the military option takes natural cause.

The main battle will be to have Kenya divided into Jimbos whereas the Coastal Jimbo will be under the US and British Marines units to guard the main port of entry from the looming economic and humanitarian crisis being felt in DRC, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda Northern Tanzania and Sudan.

While Western Kenya ( Rift Valley, Western, Nyanza ) Jimbos shall be manned by a UN peacekeeping force under the command of Rt UN Major Gen. Opande together with experienced contigents of the Kenyan military UN peacekeeping veterans still in service who worked with him in Liberia/Kosovo/Angola.

The regional leaders have agreed to have Major General Paul Kagame supervise the military action if the talks fails, while all the immediate neighbors (Tanzania and Uganda) will provide security escort to all the goods from Mombasa to the Great Lake region countries.

The enforcement of a sanction against Kenya will force Kibaki and his cronies, Kalonzo included, to accept Bomas Draft or face full wrath similar to what the late Saddam of Iraq was subjected to.

It is now advisable that all other community who are pro-ODM-Majimbo government to immediately find the way to their ancestral land following the major onslaught genocide being planed by the Mungiki militias who now make up 70% of Police/GSU force. Their will be no guarantee for their security in Central Province, the only safe haven is in ancestral homes.

Mr Kalonzo is campaigning to undo the said plan by persuading the international community to have them have Kibaki step down for him to lead the country in order to avert chaos, the proposal which has been rejected and dismissed as selfishness, because it is Raila and ODM who have been mandated by Kenyans to lead.  Therefore, Mr Kalonzo is being described as one who lacks intelligence and is corrupt. Mr Kalonzo is a traitor and is now working around the clock to betray Kibaki and the Mt Kenya Mafia internationally.

This move is in the last stages and will be implemented immediately when the Kofi Annan mediation fails next week. (unedited)

World must help Kenya enforce Bomas draft

Published on February 20, 2008, 12:00 am
East African Standard

By Prof Henry Mwanzi

  EXCERPT:

The Presidency is the problem that has been ravaging us since 1964. Kenyans realised this and came together to cure this disease in 2004 in the Bomas draft constitution. That draft contained proposals to establish a just system, where power and resources are devolved. It is those who subverted democracy who sabotaged the Bomas Draft implementation, because, as they said, one of their own had become president.
Now is the time to implement that draft constitution to bring justice and peace. It is this draft that was the true change that the majority of Kenyans voted for last year. Seven provinces out of eight voted for change. Status quo will not bring peace, because there will be no justice.

When young people say there will be no peace without justice, they mean it. And they do not mean Raila Odinga. They mean an agent of change.

The international community, especially the US, Britain, Australia, Norway, Canada and France should help implement the Bomas Draft Constitution – a local initiative, which contains a homegrown solution to the crisis.

The Constitution Debate (Round 1)

 Subject: RE: Constitutional Change

Fri, 22 Feb 2008 10:21:38

ODM is for Bomas Draft while PNU is for “WAKO draft” I agree. having said this, ODM needs to pull out. Some time back, someone recommended in this forum that ODM needed to pull out. Now I see such need. Kabaki is playing games with people’s lives. I thought PNU would be civil about this matter but they are not. How can WAKO Draft, a loosing document even be considered in this matter? I don’t think these people are looking ahead at all. There will be a civil war if this matter is not resolved accordingly. Kenya will have to be divide or there will be a civil war. Kabaki can take Eastern Kenya and Central and ODM take the rest. ODM is for Federal System which we all like and PNU is for dictatorship and mismanagement of resources.

Thanks,

Gerald

 Subject: Constitutional Change

Fri, 22 Feb 2008 07:53:10

ODM is for “Bomas Draft” while PNU is “WAKO Draft”.  Bomas Draft deafeted Wako Draft in the last referendum. Do we all agree to this at least?

With WAKO Draft having been overwhelmingly shot down by majority of Kenyans during the referendum do we still need to argue how long it should take to change the constitution? Kenya already has a new Draft Constitution in place, the BOMAS Draft. At the very most, it should take less than 2 weeks to enact this Document as the new Constitution for Kenya. From then, our Parliament can embark on legislative debates for necessary ammendments i.e. 1st amendment, 2nd amendment etc

Of priority right now is to put in place the New Constitution (BOMAS Draft), begin the process of transitioning to a devolved government, start building solid institutions that cannot be abused by anyone.

Kibaki still argues as if there was no new Constitution in place. Talking of 12 months to write a new Constitution is to say the least showing off ones ignorance to the extreme. Does Kibaki understand that Kenyans already wrote a new Constitution while he became complacent during his last five years in office. Who advises this guy? Does he remember how the party that trashed his party in the last elections which he decided to steal to hang on to power, got its name Orange?

Obviously, Kibaki is not fit to lead Kenya even if this mediation process decides to make an allowance for him to stay on as head of State. Kibaki sounds to me like an incapacitated person who needs medical help. Why should kenya be at the mercy of a sick person like Kibaki honestly?

We need to be blunt with some of these people. Kibaki is sick. There is no doubt about that. If you doubt me, then I would ask you to question your faculties first.

Julius Okelo

Where are we going as Kenyans!!!

I know this is not the best time to raise a controversial discussion! But as a concerned citizens of the lovely Nation of Kenya we need to ask serious questions???? Before doing that it shld be known to all that read this article that Kibaki cannot be compared to Raila in the national and international arena on issues of democracy and political liberation of a
people. So it leaves me in a state waiting for the day we will ever compare the two when serious minds are engaged. Nevertheless, all said and less done, we have to appreciate that there are leaders that we impose on ourselves and they lead as eventually to places we dont have any idea of there whereabouts.

I tend to think that a leader should be capable of sharing with the people he or she intends to lead!! Share in what??? He /she should share the same geographical and specific aspects of life and societies dynamics. It is true that for instance that ‘Education is power.’ Please, we don’t need an angel to tell us how our community the Luos have deteroriated as to education.

My simple reasoning is that poverty has stricken us from all the corners. And education is expensive!!! But what do the Luo leaders do to address this economical issues??? If I say nothing it will be a lie but they are totally doing little to help solve the situation.

The few of us that proceed to higher learning instituons don’t bring back the fruits of Education to the society. Please note that there are people who are exceptionally dedicated to help but they are like two drops of water in the Lake.

I can write till the next day, or otherwise!! Don’t forget that by all means we should look at issues from a sober perspective and fight poverty away from our homes then we will have the knowledge and power it takes to change the world. That I beleive could help us.

We need each other in one peace and that’s the way it is.

George O.O

The question of experience!

Any time there is any kind of election, the question of experience emerges.I recently listened to a very hot and charged discussion by the political pundits on whether or not Obama has what it takes to be the president.

This reminds me of comments made by some pastors from Andrews that we had at our church this last Saturday. They noted that back home during camp meetings the conference would send unmarried people to go and speak on the subject of marriage. One pastor made us laugh to tears when he observed that he always gave them something else.

I am sure that you know of places that you will not be hired unless you have experience. May be you have been a victim at one time or the other.

Which leads me to this question. Is experience necessary? What will you advise on the following:

1. Would you rather chose as the president a personwith experience or give someone else a chance?

2. If your church wanted to do a seminar on family life, whom would your choice be?

3. If you fell ill and went to the hospital where there is a new Doctor and one with experience whom will you chose?

Where can one draw the line?

Just wondering.

Blessings.

Final list of councillors released – Names Missing, Party Divided

See the last 2 paras…

Final list of councillors released
Published on February 23, 2008, 12:00 am

BY Saturday Standard Team

EXCERPTS:
Mayoral elections were thrown into a spin as names of key contestants were missing from a gazette notice.

The names of nominated councillors were handed over to the Local Government without alterations, Electoral Commission of Kenya chairman, Mr Samuel Kivuitu, confirmed on Friday night.

There has been heightened activity in Mombasa, Nairobi, Kisumu, Eldoret, Nakuru and other major councils — ahead of the elections on Monday. At least 2,402 elected and 759 nominated councillors are expected to take part.

The name of Former Adopt-A-Light Managing Director, Miss Esther Passaris, ODM choice for Nairobi mayor, was missing in the list published on Friday. She spent the day campaigning among civic leaders opposed to Baba Dogo ward councillor, Mr Godrey Majiwa.
Councillors supporting Passaris left a meeting at a Nairobi hotel on Friday worried, as it emerged that PNU and affiliate partners are now keen to front one of their own after realising ODM would go to the mayoral election divided.

ALSO…

Nairobi City Council, which has 25 nominees, had 24 in the list released on Friday by Local Government Minister, Mr Uhuru Kenyatta.

Contacted about why the list for Nairobi had a name missing, ECK Deputy Secretary, Mr Chege Suleiman referred The Saturday Standard to Uhuru. “Let him show you the exact list that we submitted to him,” he said.

In a related development, two names proposed by the Party of National Unity (PNU) were missing from the list published in Kenya Gazette amid allegations of underhand dealings.
The first casualty was Mr Wilfred Apencha, the PNU treasurer, who immediately complained to the minister.

The other nominee whose name was missing was Ms Recho Wanjiku Kamwaro.

The most controversial inclusion in the list was the name of Mr Lee Muchiri, who is an ally of former Sports minister Mr Maina Kamanda.
Muchiri contested the Kasarani Parliamentary seat after he was handed the PNU ticket in an acrimonious manner, but lost to Ms Elizabeth Ongoro of ODM.

FINALLY…

And the seven councillors from Nyatike Constituency who fled to Tanzania at the height of violence have returned through Isebania, Kopanga and Muhuru border crossings.
The PNU leaders quickly went into secret locations after a brief appearance in Migori town.

They include Zakayo Odero Adem (Kanyasa Ward), Albert Onuko (Nyakwere), Zakawa Dickens (Kanyarwanda), Owino Okoth (Macalder), Okuno Joseph (Got Kachola), Osodo Robert Oluoch (Muhuru East Ward) and Mrs Omoro Atieno, Kaler ward.
