Kenya: Nyanza entrepreneurs off to US for training.

The Nyanza province youthful businessmen received a shot in the arm from a foreign based organization that deals with empowerment of youth, to go further their training on entrepreneurship skills.

Under the aegis of the Nyanza Young Entrepreneurs (NYE) the youth totaling 10, jetted out last week to participate in a Department of State-sponsored program with Heartland International of Chicago (HIC), Illinois, U.S.A.

Speaking to journalists during the farewell party for the team shortly before their departure, the NYE chairman Mr. Eddy Anayo who is leading the delegation in the two-month program divulged that they will not only be taught theory for one month, but also venture into practicality part of it.

Eddy who habours vast experience and prowess in business management and runs a chain of businesses ranging from car hire firms to tourism guide both in kisumu and Nairobi further disclosed that the N.Y.E members- at the end of the training session which is slated to end on 12th 0f August 2010- are expected to be qualified Training of Trainers (ToTs) so that on return

: “having acquired the necessary skills they can train the jobless youths in Kenya on the same having borrowed a leaf from the global front” he focused.

The NYE is scheduled for official launch later this year(October) by high ranking officials of HIC and is the brainchild of Miss Anne Marie who is its coordinator.

Marie is also one of the top officials of the Women in the Fishing Industry Program (WIFPI), Kenya.

NYE membership is based on people who are focused with entrepreneurship ambitions.

The delegation was seen off by kisumu based business magnate, Abdulqadir Omar. And they were accorded a warm reception by the HIC officials, on arrival.
